Nevertheless, over time many businesses have been built within the limits of Norbridge Village and it has slowly regained its lost popularity as a place for families to live and work together. In 1911-1912, Norwegian immigrants Frits Sørensen (1873-1964) and Olaf Kåre Holmgaard (1876-1966) immigrated to America with their families; they set up shop on West Milwaukee Avenue in what is now known as Saksen Parkette Shopping Center which served as both their home base while they awaited orders from Denmark that would allow them to purchase land there instead of coming back home empty-handed (the process took two years). However soon after they arrived, they decided against staying permanently in America because they found that life here didn't fit how they wanted it to - so they returned home whereupon Frits continued selling products door-to-door until his death in 1964 while Olaf sustained health problems until he passed away three years later also at age 80 – making him one of America’s oldest surviving business owners! At that time there were only six residents living within the present limits of Norrington--four men and two women--and no schools or other public buildings; but soon schools began to be erected throughout the township including grammar schools for boys and girlsinderders open to all classes from 3 to 12 years old and an academy for young ladies also open to girls from 13 to 19 years old who paid tuition fees alone or with help from their parents or guardians. In 1865 when new territory was created in Kane County including parts now lying east of Aurora Avenue between 95th Street and 97th Street—then called “the northwest corner”—Norridge became one of its initial villages along with Arlington Heights (now Elmhurst), Metropolis (now Lombard), Northbrook (now Schaumburg), South Park (now Oak Brook), Streamwood (now Hinsdale) and Villa Park (later Wheaton). In 1908 these five villages merged into one self-governing unit known as “Kane County” with norridge being placed within its boundaries once again! norridge has experienced many changes over the years both positive and negative; however through it all her people have always tried to make things right for everyone she has ever impacted!
