In the late 1800s, people in Naperville and other Illinois communities started buying firearms to protect themselves from Native Americans. The first firearms used small-caliber rounds that were difficult for the Indians to hit. These rifles didn't have any sights or stocks, so they needed someone to shoot them for them. This was called a "shootist." In 1892, a man by the name of George Hennepin became the first person in Naperville to get a license to sell arms. He began selling handguns too, but his products were not well-received. However, around 1895, George Nicolosi started manufacturing guns at his factory in what is now Naperville. His products were more popular and he soon opened up another store in 1896. NICOLOSI GUNS INCorporated would become one of the most successful gun manufacturers in Illinois during the early 1900s because their products were reliable and affordable. The NRA was founded in 1871 as the National Rifle Association of America (NRA) by members of Congress who wanted to make it easier for citizens to buy weapons and keep them safe. The NRA helped make rifle hunting illegal on public land in 1934; this ban made rifle hunting one of the safest activities you can do with a firearm! In 1903, NICOLOSI GUNS INCorporated merged with Colt Firearms Corp., creating one of America's most famous gun companies! Over time, Colt has produced over 200 different types of firearms including pistols and revolvers! Today's Colt Firearms Corporation manufactures ammunition, ammo cases and parts for law enforcement agencies around the world!

Naperville, a city in Cook County, Illinois, is the capital of the Naperville-Kankakee-Harrison County and Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,503 at the 2010 census. It is located on the west side of Chicago's North Side within the Chicago–Naperville–Joliet Combined Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what is now Naperville was George Rogers Clark in 1814. He named his tract of land for General James K. Polk (1795-1848), who had been elected president that year and had served as military governor of Illinois. By 1825, there were about 150 people living in what is now Naperville. In 1844, John Hinsdale founded Hinsdale Township on land he purchased from Roger Sherman for $1 million near present-day Kaneohe Bayou and Lake Michigan Boulevard in north suburban Cook County. On November 3 of that year, Naperville became a village under the name "Naperville" with a population of 100 residents; it was incorporated as a town on December 6th of that year by an act of the state legislature. In 1847, William White built White Hall on land he acquired from Abraham Lincoln for $2 million; it continues to be used as a performing arts center today. In 1850, Alexander Graham Bell established his lab here after winning a competition to develop an inexpensive telephone system using metal wires stretched between two trees near Kaneohe Bayou; this first phone call originated from White Hall! In 1861, when Confederate General Robert Ewing surrendered at Appomattox Court House following Union army advances into Virginia%, General Ulysses S Grant took over command from Ewing and ordered all defeated Confederate forces out of Illinois; this led to increased tension between Unionists and Confederates in south central Illinois – which culminated with drummer boy Cornelius Sheridan shooting five people while they were playing music at an old blacksmith shop near present day West Harrison Street in 1865). By 1870s most manufacturing industry had relocated away due to competition from steel mills farther east but some businesses such as Wabash Paper Company continued to operate until 1985 when it closed down due to lack of customer demand; however Wabash Paper still hangs around proudly today as part of Northwestern Mutual Group! In 1886 local banker George Romney organized efforts by wealthy entrepreneurs Amos Alonzo Stagg and Charles Cushman Wagner to create one common school district which included much rural farmland then divided among several districts; this effort eventually succeeded and todayNaperville also has its own high school - DePaul University! Despite being small during its peak (1910) Naperville's economy grew rapidly thanks to annexation by other municipalities including Downers Grove (1921), Elmhurst (1927), Lombard Park (1939), Grayslake Heights (1945), Addison Park(1950)and Winnetka Heights (1960). The growth continued through World War II with plants like Armour & Co., Ford Motor Company and DuPont Corporation establishing operations here along with numerous other businesses such as Janssen Pharmaceuticals companies etc.; however post war recession caused many factories closure across Midwest leading directly to loss jobs for many locals producing things such as cars parts etc.; however some new businesses have sprung up such as renewable energy company Windstar Energy moving into former Ford plant adjacent to Obama Presidential Library & Museum later becoming one of largest wind turbines manufacturer world! Today despite economic challenges overall business optimism remains high especially given strong job market prospects ahead espoused by Mayor Rahm Emanuel himself!
