The Mount Prospect Shooting Protection Association was organized on May 25, 1911, in the small town of Mount Prospect, Illinois. The purpose of the association was to promote shooting safety and protect members from accidents occurring while prospecting for deer or other game. At first, muzzleloading firearms were used only by gentlemen who had wealth enough to afford such a privilege. With the rise of Prohibition in America in 1920, this privilege gradually broadened to include more people. In 1934, the National Rifle Association (NRA) passed a resolution stating that all Americans should be able to own and use muzzleloading firearms without fear of criminal prosecution. In 1938, Congress enacted the National Firearms Act which made it illegal for anyone under 21 years old to possess any firearm with a barrel less than 18 inches in length or any shotgun with an overall length greater than 12 inches. This law also outlawedMachineguns (gadgets that fire multiple rounds at once). This prohibition led to many young men being turned away from NRA-sponsored shooting events due to their age restrictions. As a result, NRA began hosting its own tournaments exempting those under 21 years old. This eventually became known as “ youths” tournaments and is still held today. The Mount Prospect Shooting Protection Association has been active ever since!

Mount Prospect is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 30,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The name "Mount Prospect" comes from the fact that this community was located on top of a hill that overlooked the village of Mount Prospect. The first settler in what is now Mount Prospect was James Caldwell, who arrived in 1833. In 1841, David Dixon founded Dixon's Mill and raised corn there until 1847 when he started to produce flour for sale in larger towns in Cook County. By 1865, Dixon's Mill had produced enough flour to become a full-fledged mill and by 1870 it had become one of the largest flour mills in Illinois. As cotton production grew more important in Illinois during this time period, so too did milling activity around Mount Prospect; by 1890 Dixon's Mill had become an important part of the local economy with operations producing over 1 million pounds of flour per year and shipping out 350 tons of goods each day across Cook and DuPage Counties alone! In 1911 – just as World War I was breaking out – Abraham Lincoln proclaimed "The Century of Progress" within Illinois; this slogan signified new opportunities for industry and commerce which would result in increased prosperity for all citizens statewide. With rapid growth came social changes as well: by 1920 Mount Prospect had become one of the most racially integrated communities west of Chicago and its people were proud to be Anishinaabe (Haudenosaunee) Indians! This proud history can still be seen today as many businesses throughout town maintain relationships with Native American tribes through traditional dances, ceremonies and trade events! Mount Prospect experienced another boom during World War II due to its proximity to Lake Michigan; schools were built here military base housing soldiers while factories churned out uniforms and planes for America’s war effort! After World War II ended there were some slowdowns but overall business continued booming into the 21st century thanks to advances such as online shopping, mobile technology and big dataolutions! On July 14th 2019 – Independence Day - Mount prospect celebrated 150 years since it became a municipality with three elections including 50% women Vote!. This event also included many activities such as street fairs & concerts throughout town followed by fireworks display from midnight

Mount Prospect is a Chicago suburb, located in the northwest suburbs of the city of Chicago. The community was founded by George Mount Prospect in 1871 as a small settlement on the edge of what is now Bronzeville, now part of the City of Chicago. In 1914, Mount Prospect became an incorporated municipality with a population of over 180,000 people. Mount Prospect has been home to many notable residents and businesses including Senator John F. Kennedy (1944-1961), Mayor Richard M. Daley (1968-2002), and Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich (2005-2010). The community also played host to the 1984 Summer Olympics and has hosted other events such asthe United States Open Tennis Championships and the first NATO Summit in June 2006.
Mount Prospect was founded in 1849 by Isaac Brock and his family. The town is located on the east bank of the Mississippi River, about midway between Chicago and St. Louis. The first settler in Mount Prospect was Nathan Dunham, who arrived in 1819. He platted the town on a bluff overlooking the river and built a small fort to protect it from raiders. In 1836, Aaron Hicks purchased land in Mount Prospect from Dunham for $1,500. Hicks began to build a large mill on the south side of the river near present-day downtown Mount Prospect. At that time, Illinois was still part of Missouri Territory. A millrace ran along the river near where the modern-day University of Illinois campus stands today, powering Hicks' mills until 1865 when navigation improved and he stopped using waterpower altogether. In 1861, he donated land to Mount Prospect Township for a schoolhouse and church which were dedicated on April 16th of that year. At this time, Mount Prospect had a population of around 100 people and two stores; one operated by Jno Vail (a local farmer) and another by Nicholas Biddle (the founder of Ripon College). By 1870, however, there were only six residents living in Mount Prospect; three merchants - Prentice & Company; Fenton & Reeves; Storer Bros.; alluding to its status as an agricultural center rather than an industrial town as some other nearby towns had become since 1860s due to new transportation capabilities brought about by railroads reaching Chicago via Stroudsburg Landing just north of present day Springfield IL.)
