Morton Grove, Illinois is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 21,801 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1881 by farmers who moved from nearby Westmont and Elgin to take up land in Morton Grove after being displaced by railroad construction. Morton Grove became an incorporated town on December 15, 1903. On November 14, 1938, it annexed the neighboring village of Arlington Heights. On July 1, 1959, Morton Grove merged with neighbouring Tinley Park to form a new citywide municipality which had a population of 509,224 as of the 2010 census. The citygovernment of Morton Grove has been Republican since its creation in 1959 and has not changed since then; however it does have strong Democratic support due to its location within walking distance of most major Chicago institutions (including City Hall).

Morton Grove is a small community located in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 7,811 at the 2010 census. Morton Grove is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The village of Morton Grove was platted in 1871 by Wm. Morton and his brother-in-law, George Stephenson. In 1892, the village had a population of 1,100 and became an incorporated town on November 3 that year. On March 15, 1907, Morton Grove became one of fifty townships in Cook County when it was created from portions of Elgin Township and Skokie Township. The township name change was due to popular demand from residents who wanted to be more culturally diverse than the word "Morton." On December 14, 1965 – nine years after its incorporation as a town – Morton Grove merged with neighboring Streamwood to form the newest city in Cook County: Elmhurst Park City (EPC). At that time there were only 801 people living within Elmhurst Park City boundaries; however by 2000 there were over 394 thousand people living within Emanuel–Oakland Community District boundaries which made it one of the most recent incarnations of Chicago's largest African AmericanRahway neighborhood—the first black enclave outside of downtown Chicago proper since late nineteenth century African American settlement began in earnest in what would become known as River Northside through white flight from those neighborhoods during World War II brought about by suburbanization (Healy 1998). In late 2007/2008 Elmhurst Park City commissioned an analysis by two private consultants to recommend ways for it to continue growing without annexing adjacent communities like Streamwood which are home to larger populations and businesses than Elmhurst Park City could accommodate alone (Fenton et al 2008). One possible means for redevelopment that emerged from this study called for annexation into Elmhurst ParkCity but this idea received mixed reactions among some residents who felt annexed organizations such as police departments or schools would take away their voice while others argued that they should have been consulted about any potential changes before they were implemented because they are their community’s lifeblood (Haley 2008). Ultimately no action was taken following these consultations but growth remains a possibility as new development proposals continue bubbling up around the corner even if no decisions have yet been made regarding them.

Morton Grove is a small town located in the southern Illinois suburbs of Chicago. It was founded in 1847 by farmers who came to the area from rural Indiana. Morton Grove became a municipality in 1959 and is now part of the city of Chicago. The population of Morton Grove was estimated at 31,872 as of 2018. The first settler in Morton Grove was John A. Smith, who arrived in 1847. He and his family were among the first white men to settle in what is now Morton Grove Township. In 1848, William Davenport moved to Morton Grove from Aurora, Illinois and began trading goods with the Indians around his home base on the west side of town. Davenport's business grew into a large farm operation that produced corn, wheat, cattle, horses, mules and other livestock. In 1861, when Illinois became a state, Morton Grove became one of nine townships within Cook County (now Chicago). In 1865, when it split off from Cook County and incorporated as its own municipality, John A. Smith donated land comprising most of today's Morton Grove Township to make it an official community center for the township. The new village had two blocks wide streets with Thirty-Third Street running along one edge while northbound Michigan Avenue ran parallel to it on the other edge; each block contained 25 homes or businesses facing southwesterly street traffic only while residents faced eastward onto Third Street during Daylight hours This layout would remain until 1949 when Sunrise Boulevard was created creating an eastern border for Village which then ran along Eighty-Fourth Street between Michigan Avenue and Third Street becoming northeast corner alleyway called Sunrise Boulevard . Today there are few remnants remaining from this early time period including original homes still standing on Third Street near Michigan Avenue – these have been converted into restaurants or condos . In 1870 George Kapp acquired some additional property within present day Morton Grove Township from John A . Smith which he named Kapp Prairie after himself and built a house there which remains today as "Kapp Manor". Kapp Prairie would become known for hosting many events such as county fairs (the first being held in 1875), agricultural shows (1877/78), rifle matches (1879) and horse races (1901). Many important people associated with early settlers such as George Kapp also lived here including Judge Augustus Chauncy who served on Cook County Circuit Court from 1889 until 1893; banker Julius Rosenwald; physician Drury Leland; Rev Fenton Littlejohn; Mr & Mrs Wm Cady Stanton; nurses Bertha Morrell Goodyear & Alice Roosevelt Longworth; post office workers Anna Quesada Beale & Nellie Bogan etc.. Many families also settled here during this time including: Hennepin brothers Isaac & Abraham McNamara - their father O'Neill migrated here with them settling near North Side Road in 1854 following Henry Hennepin's death at age 20 years old - they bought 1/3 interest in McNamara Land Co.; David Morehouse - he bought much of what is now Riverdale Shopping Center @ 63rd St & Harlem Ave from Reuben Morehouse Sr., builder (& later owner) Of The Metropole Bank building back then
