In 1922, two-time world champion pitcher Caulfield Earle purchased some of Mr. Morton's property where he built his own home and farmstead called "Earl's Home". Caulfield Earle became one of America's most successful athletes and spent many years living and playing baseball in Illinois before moving to California in 1958.
