This business was located on Park Avenue and used a variety of different gunsights including an open-air ballistics display tower, a cast iron bulls eye sighting device, a magnetic target sight, and even an early 20th century three-point adjustable rifle scope! The volunteers also discovered that many Minooka residents still use traditional firearm sights today!

Minooka, Illinois is a village in Macomb County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,733 at the 2010 census. Minooka is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first settlers in Minooka were farmers who began arriving in 1836. The village was organized on February 17, 1856 and named after Major George Washington Minooka who fought in the Mexican-American War. In 1870, a post office was established and named after Capt. John Fitch Minooka who had been killed during the American Civil War. In 1906, the railroad arrived to town and soon started providing employment for many of the local residents including several merchants and farmers as well as blacksmiths and wagon builders. By 1912, more than 50 businesses were operating within walking distance of each other making MinOOKA one of the most active communities in the area with primary industries such as agriculture (farming), manufacturing (steelmaking and woodworking), transportation (roads and bridges), retail trade (stores, restaurants) and services (police department). The days when small towns like this thrived are long gone but that doesn't mean there hasn't been any progress made over these past few decades - especially since MINOOKA became an incorporated village on October 22nd of that year! One big accomplishment that has come about from incorporation was our ability to partner with municipalities throughout southern Macomb County to provide resources such as land development assistance which has led to new infrastructure projects being implemented byvillage leadership over time including: 1) A new library building which opened its doors on November 21st of 2013; this facility provides much-needed access to education for all members of our community 2) A new police substation which opened its doors on October 15th of 2014; this addition allows us to provide law enforcement services 24/7 3) An expansion into agricultural production - currently we produce hay & ruminant feed products; future plans call for growing corn & beans 4) renovations to our health care facilities - currently we offer free preventive healthcare screenings for all inhabitants 5) Increasingly available programming options within minutes’ walk from majority of residents 6) Continued investment into technology 7) More recent additions include a heated pool and basketball court complete with synthetic turf

In 1875, he donated land to establish Minooka Township which became one of Cook County's five townships.
On February 15, 1871, the first post office in Minooka was established. The town was named after Captain James A. Minooka of the U.S. Revenue Cutter Service. In 1916, the city of Minooka became a part of the Chicago metropolitan area and its first mayor was Harry J. Hughes
