Today,Mchenry remains an important community with a rich history that has been touched by many events over the years
Mchenry, Illinois was founded in 1836 by David H. Mchenry and his wife Emaline B. McNairy. The town took its name from General Andrew Jackson's presidential victory over Native Americans at the Battle of Hockenheim on November 5, 1813.
