In 1847 John Coddington bought Slater's Brewery and moved it to Toledo, Ohio where he ran it as an ale brewery until 1850 when he switched to whiskey production. After that point until 1861 Hoffman-Cobb Brewery operated as an adjunct brewery to McCormick & Company Brewing Co., also located in Toledo until that company went out of business in 1903 In 1865 Charles Burch bought Slater's Brewery from John Coddington for $2,500 cash only, then reorganized it into two companies: The Hart Brewing Company Ltd., based at 5th Avenue & Wabash Road; and The Olde World Brewing Company Ltd., based at 419 S State St., later renamed First National Bank building In 1889 Nicklaus Brothers Brewing Company merged with Hart Brewing Company Ltd.; by 1902 all three breweries were under One National Bank name (later known as Pennzoil). In 1915 One National Bank merged with Chicago Mercantile Exchange Corporation; by 1935 both corporations had been acquired by American Petroleum Refining Corporation (ARPEC) which continued operations as One National Bankcorporation before being sold off to Mellon Corporations Incorporatedin 1986 . By 1986 ARPEC had been divided into several divisions including Pennzoil Exploration Corporation which was purchased by ConocoPhillips plcand eventually spun off into its own company Phillips Energy Group Pennzoil Exploration Corporation was renamed Pioneer Natural Gas Partners LP prior to its acquisition by XTO Energy Incorporatedin 2016 . mattoons economy centers around agriculture with about 60% of jobs within farming or related industries such as feedlot grooves or seed handling/storage etc..
