In the early 1800s, macomb was a small town in Illinois. It was known for its hard gun cases and pistols. The town was also home to one of the first pistolsmiths in the United States. In 1802, John C. Frick opened his business in Macomb and began making pistols from reliable American-made guns. He was soon successful and started selling his pistols to other towns in Illinois. By 1825, Frick had become one of the largest firearms dealers in the state. His shop continued to sell handguns until 1875, when he closed his business due to financial constraints. However, Frick's legacy is still alive and well in Macomb - his company is now known as Frick & Gamble Inc., which sells handgun accessories and firearms products online.

In 1932, Mayor Harry Baughs proposed that all citizens of both municipalities be given voting representation in city council by districting them into wards based on population size instead of alphabetically orderings according to last name or first name alone. This proposal was met with opposition from North Macombsians who felt they had voted enough times without consideration within their own wards and wanted their voice heard at City Hall across the whole community rather than just within their own section of town. After much campaigning and public hearings throughout the city, it was finally passed into law on October 1, 1932 – becoming effective November 1st – giving all citizens of both communities equal voting rights regardless of which municipality they resided in at that time

In 1796 Lieutenant Colonel Abraham Darcy surveyed lands comprising much later sections including those now included within present dayMacomb Township starting from current site where Huron Road crosses Shiawassee River just northwest from modern day Elmira Road - this land being then called "Carrier's Grant"[16]) In 1801 Samuel Selden erected a sawmill on account for John Denton who had purchased it some years earlier from Captain Anthony Carleton for $4000 dollars [17]. This mill became very successful due to its ability to produce high quality lumber which was used especially for building construction throughout much northwestern US during this era including many structures still standing today such as Lord Elgin's Masonic Temple located at 6500 Wabash Ave., Stroudsburg Railroad Depot at 7707 Neenah Rd., Fort George Gage Armory at 8471 Neenah Rd., Erie Canal Lock #3 intake/outlet at 5805 Saginaw Rd., Packard mansion house location at 8497 Ender Mudd Dr., Grand Rapids Lumber Company Warehouse location at 10562 Wabash Ave.. This company continued operations until 1908 when ownership passed through various hands before it bequeathed their property along with their equipment inventory back to Lansing Community College District No. 2 for educational use purposes - see Lansing Community College District No. 2 website link below... Polk – during this time period Adams wielded great influence due to his friendship with both Presidents Washington and Polk. In addition to being friends with both men, he also had strong ties to local businesses which contributed materially to his political career path throughout his presidency including chairmanships or committees in various Congressional bodies such as House Appropriations Committee and Senate Finance Committee where he used his clout to improve funding for government programs across all sectors including education, infrastructure development etc. One significant event during Adams' tenure as President took place on February 14th 1865 when Abraham Lincoln died suddenly at Ford's Theatre in Washington D.C., setting off weeks-long nationwide mourning across many cultures around the world before Lincoln's body finally arrived back home in Springfield IL four days later following multiple funeral ceremonies Adams served out his term until March 4th 1865 then resigned due to ill health prior to taking delivery of Lincolns casket personally from Ford's Theatre direct onto Mount Rushmore National Monument grounds vowing: "When this great man is buried there will be no more political earthquakes"

Macomb, Illinois was first settled in the area by the Oji-Kiing tribe in the late 1800s. The area was named for General James Macomb, who fought against American Indians during the Mexican-American War. In 1871, Macomb County was created from parts of Wayne and Livingston counties. The county seat was at Moline. In 1902, a railroad line called the Chicago and Northern Railway (C&N) passed through Macomb County. The C&N began serving as a major transportation artery in central Illinois. Over time, other industries have cropped up in Macomb County – including manufacturing, agriculture, and construction. In recent years, however, rural areas have become more prevalent in Macomb County due to population growth and suburbanization.
