Loves Park is a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,361 at the 2010 census. The community is located on the border of Kane County and McLean County. It lies east of Chicago and south of Aurora. Loves Park was first settled in 1868 by German immigrants who named it "Kleinemühlen." Kleinemühlen is a corruption of "Lake Michigan" which suggests that the founders were looking for a place to summer their crops. In 1871, when the Illinois Central Railroad built its line through town, the settlers renamed it Loves Park after George Washington Loveday, an official with the railroad. A post office was established in Loves Park in 1872, and remained in operation until it closed in 1916. The first store opened in Loves Park on Main Street in 1885 by Wm Hickey & Bros., which became known as Hickey's General Store until it closedin 1961. The first restaurant opened called Knoppers' Restaurant on West Adams Boulevard across from High School in 1912 by Paul Knoppers Jr.. That business remains open to this day as the present day Knoppers’ Tavern restaurant. Ammunition began being imported into North America by English colonists in 1524 AD – this led to more combat between Native Americans and European settlers than ever before!

Loves Park is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is the namesake of the Loves Park Historic District, which was designated in 1978. The district includes 129 buildings and 1½ miles (2 km) of streets. The town's population was 20,867 at the 2010 census. The town was platted in 1857 by John Loves and his wife Catharine Gentry as part of a farming area that extended from Carbondale to Tinicum Township. In 1888, Reverend Prentice Eldredge organized an Episcopal church here. By 1890, there were 11 businesses in Loves Park and 1 store operated by Augustus Brownlow for $4 per week on Main Street. A post office was established here in 1893 and remained operational until it closed in 1905. In 1911 the Chicago & Northwestern Railway built a line from Elgin to Urbana through Loves Park and other towns near Carbondale; this added impetus to development of the area around Love's Park Station on the south side of Love's Creek between Elmwood Avenue and Western Boulevard. At first most people who bought land here developed it for agriculture or ranching; but after World War I when shipping became more important along the then-new Great Lakes River system, many local businessmen began to build railroads into their properties for commuter service; these created new demand for housing as well as industry on nearby parcels of land that had never been developed before. In 1927 Wernher von Braun visited Love's Park while working on his space project at Marshall Field's northwest corner lot; Von Braun brought with him plans for a future moon landing site that he wanted to see realized according to his own specifications rather than those limitations set by Army planners—a precedent that would be followed throughout American space exploration programs starting with Apollo 11 thirty years later! Loves Park grew rapidly during its early years as a result of this increased railroad traffic: by 1930 there were 20 stores, 5 restaurants, 2 churches (the Revivals Methodist Church and First Baptist), 2 schools (one graded high school and one primary school), 3 machine shops (two used by Du Pont companies), 9 homes (6 single family dwellings plus two shotgun homes built by teachers/pupils during prohibition era), 4 motels (3 run by Kipling Publishing Company owners Mrs. Fenton Kapp[1]and Drs.[2]) There also were 3 blacksmiths,[3][4] 2 electricians,[5][6], 1 barrel maker[7], 1 sawyer[8], 1 farm implement dealership,[9],[10] 1 real estate agent,[11],[12],[13]), ½ dozen farmers[14][15], ½dozen men employed primarily as drivers or laborers for various employer organizations such as meat packinghouses or breweries ([16]), several piecemakers such as Edward Sibley (−see below−)[17]), several Artists"[18]–"including Artie Shaw (−see below−)" ; all told there were some 375 residents living within what is now Loves Park Historical District limits when it was first designated in 1978! This rapid growth combined with low prices for farmland relative to population size – only $1 per acre ($40 per hectare) compared to $5-$10 per acre ($100-$200 per hectare) prevailing at similar points around Illinois − led many landowners beginning in the 1920s to build hobby farms outbuildings called "creek cottages." These operations included two creameries, two wineries (both Cubskin Winery[19]), three grain elevators (= silo type operations), several beekeepers' hives (= apiaries), several carpenters' workshops (= woodcarving/turning mills + tool making), Several personal servants (/household help). Among these notableirk pioneers are Willis Hudnut (+ see below−)[20]). Many creek cottage owners continued running their properties even into later decades thanks largely to continuing accessorial tax base derived from agricultural production being mainstay economic activity hereabouts − providing relatively inexpensive suburban living quarters close enough'means without havingto travel too far away 'for good'. Although much has changed since 1978 including suburban subdivisions spreading outward from original village boundaries numerous brick row houses remain standing virtually unchanged Faces North [21]' .
