Lombard, Illinois is a small town located in the northwestern corner of the state of Illinois. The population was 7,362 at the 2010 census. Lombard is home to the Lombard Rifle and Pistol Club, one of the largest rifle clubs in Illinois. The club offers a variety of programs for members including clay pigeon shooting, skeet shooting, Trap Shooting and IPSC. One of the most popular programs at Lombard Rifle and Pistol Club is its annual Independence Day Gun Show which features many different types of firearms as well as ammunition.

Lombard, Illinois is a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 7,711 at the 2010 census. The name of the town is derived from the Lombard language and means "plain of the Lombards." The first settler in Lombard was Nicholas J. Fenton who arrived on July 3, 1818. Located on what is now State Route 16 north of Chicago, Lombard saw its first residents arrive starting in 1824 when John Deere settled there with his family. At that time there were only about 25 people living in Lombard and it functioned as a rural village primarily composed of farmers and their families. In 1830, a post office was established at Lombard and it remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903. It served as the primary transportation hub for many farmers since there was no railroad available to reach them directly. One of the earliest businesses located in Lombard was a livery stable operated by Captain George Dutton which opened its doors on November 1, 1835. That same year also saw the birth of civic leader Julius Sohn who played an important role early on in the history of Lombard by serving as chairman of both the school board and Asphalt Township Committee before becoming mayor later that year. On February 2nd, 1836 Samuel Morse set up shop along State Route 16 just east of town and began transmitting messages over Telegraph Line #1 between Chicago and Springfield using an octagonal tube he had built himself from scratch. This event helped spark development within local communities across southern Illinois due to increased trade opportunities resultant from this new technology which allowed for easier communication between villages farther away than ever before! A post office building located at 5334 N 90th St., Suite A (later known as First National Bank) served as headquarters until 1903 when it moved to 111th Street SE across from Parkview Shopping Center where it remains today operational though leased out to several other businesses including Sears Holdings CorporationCurrently used as offices for Grace Community Church-Lombard

Lombard was a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,030 at the 2010 census. Lombard is named after Giovanni Battista Lombardi, an Italian general who helped lead Italy to victory in World War I. The first settler in Lombard was George Higgs in 1836. In 1838, John Post moved from Granger to what is now Lombard and established a mill on the river Illinois. The first post office was established at Lombard on November 10, 1840. In 1847, the Chicago & Northwestern Railway arrived in Kane County and built its line through Lombard Junction. The railroad changed the name of the town to Milan on February 17, 1849. A millrace across the stream served as transportation for goods coming into or going out of Milan until it was replaced by a new bridge in 1907. In 1865-1866, General William Troup engaged in cavalry operations along present day Route 7 near Milan during his campaign against Ulysses S Grant during the American Civil War; he named one of his horses "Lombardi" (Italian for "Grant"). In 1897–1898 Edward Haggerty organized a farmers’ cooperative known as The National Agricultural Cooperative Union (NACU) to promote agricultural production and improve marketing methods throughout Cook County; part of this effort included setting up stores and markets at various locations around Lombard including those mentioned above In 1898–1901 Luigi Guerrieri operated a bakery called La Caffetteria Guerrieri at 6th Street and Washington Avenue which became wellknown due to its freshness of breads and pastries even after several months old . After Guerrieri’s death in 1901 his son Angelo took over but closed shop due to lack of customers . From 1908 until 1926 there were daily newspapers published weekly called Il Gazzettino della Provincia di Rome (Gazette du Roman Province) which had an audience beyond just locals before it folded because no more advertisers could be found weeks later . Today you can still purchase copies if you are brave enough to venture outside of Lombard limits

Lombard was founded in 1847 by Giovanni Lombardo and his wife, Loredana. The town became a part of the Union Territory of Illinois in 1868. In 1907, Lombard was incorporated as a city.
