This light system was known as the “Goodrich Rifle Light.” In 1875, Goodrich introduced a new rifle called the “Goodrich Pistol” which featured a metal sighting system and an illuminated front sight. This firearm became very popular among farmers and hunters alike due to its low price and high quality construction. During World War II, many Americans turned to firearms in order to support their countrymen during the fight against Nazi Germany. Many American companies contributed their products to the war effort including Smith & Wesson, Colt, Sturm Ruger, Winchester Repeating Arms Company and Remington Arms Company. Lombard is a small town in Macoupin County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,816 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wheaton-Reston Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lombard's namesake was Giovanni Lombardo (1447-1529), an Italian navigator and cartographer who explored much of what is now central Illinois during the 15th century. The first Europeans to see Lombard were French traders from Quebec in 1679 and they named it Pointe-à-Pitre after one of their vessels that had stopped there. In 1773, the British explorer Samuel Johnson discovered a ford over the La Salle River just south of present day Lombard and named it Johnson's Ford after him. A year later, he also founded a post office here with the same name. In 1812, Colonel John Pope moved his military headquarters from St Louis to what is now Wheaton and built a new fort here on land donated by General Anthony Wayne that still stands today asPope's Fort. In 1822, Congress passed an act establishing McLean County within Macoupin County which included parts of present day Lombard Township including most of its current area except for the northeast corner where land was ceded to Wheaton in 1912 by Jerome Hesseman as an annexing township to Wheaton Park District No. 5595 (now part of Wheaton). During World War I, many people from Lombard served in various capacities including working on munitions plants near Chicago or serving in army camps around Illinois; however most residents avoided combat because technology at that time did not allow such activity.) However due to wartime shortages caused by production problems at home monoplane fighter planes became available for sale only through private dealers so many residents could not afford them and some actually bought them rather than use their resources to support war efforts). After World War I ended things returned back to normal with people returning home but then quickly escalated into another depression when prices for goods quadrupled following inflation caused by world events like America entering World War II) making life difficult again even though there were no substantial changes technologically since then

On October 15, 1847, the first Lombard school was established in the town. The Lombard School District #1 was organized on November 1, 1847. The first superintendent of the Lombard School District #1 was Dr. John H. Canfield. In 1951 Superintendent J.B. Rankin replaced Dr. Canfield and served until his retirement in 1969. In 1970 Superintendent Wanda Sowers took over as Superintendent of the Lombard School District #2 and held that position until her resignation in 1984 effective January 1, 1985; then Mrs. Shirley Ladd became Superintendent effective February 1, 1985 until her death on December 31, 1989; then Mrs. Margaret Weiser assumed superseded management from Mrs. Ladd on January 1, 1990 until she resigned effective June 30, 1992 due to a personal illness which required hospitalization for several months after being elected to succeedMrs Weiser; then new Superintendent Deborah Ahern took office effective July 1, 1992 until her resignation effective September 30, 1994; finally Miss Patty Ann Flood became Superintendenteffective October 15th 1996 following Mrs Ahern's departure
