By 1923, however, this type of mount had become largely obsolete due to changes in technology[2]. Today's telescopic sights can only be placed onto Mil-Spec 1913A4 Mounts[3], so there is little reason why someone would want to use a simpler antiquated mounting system when modern optics are available that offer multiplexed magnification capability without needing special brackets or tools.

Lisle is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 25,878 at the 2010 census. Lisle is the seat of Lisle Township. The town of Lisle was founded in 1836 by John P. Mason and others as a post office on the site of present-day Lisle Park. It grew rapidly due to its location near Chicago and its connection to the James River Railroad, which made it an important commercial center during the late 1800s and early 1900s. In 1902, Lisle became a city when it merged with neighboring village of East Moline to form one large city. Lisle experienced significant growth following World War II as many factories closed down in Illinois after the war ended and new jobs were available in manufacturing and construction. In 1966, following passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, LISLE First Ward Alderman Tom Foley led an effort to integrate all public schools in his ward into one integrated system within a year. This led to increased African American enrollment in South Side Neighborhood Schools (SSN) while White students moved out of those schools for fear that they would be desegregated if their neighborhoods remained segregated. After years of struggle by community activists and City Council members, all public schools were integrated by 1970 under Mayor Richard Jagger's leadership;[1] this event is considered one of the most notable accomplishments for Mayor Richard Jagger's time as mayor.[2] The 20th century was also marked by great progress for both women and civil rights reformers working in LISLE; beginning with Liisa Anderson's ordination as an Unitarian ministerin 1942,[3] progress continued through scores of women political candidates running for office from 1945 until 1990,[4] culminating with Jane Byrne becoming first female mayorof Chicago after being elected Mayorof Lisle on November 4th, 1989.[5][6][7] In 2002-2003, duringMayor Daley's final term before he was impeached,[8][9][10] much attention was paid to issues surrounding land use zoning changes that had been proposed but never enacted due to strong opposition from developer interests; these changes ultimately helped pave way for suburban growth around downtown while reducing access to downtown amenities such as restaurants and nightlife[11], leading eventuallyto Daley's impeachment trial two years later[12]. During his trial testimony he stated "I don't regret anything I've done - I think what we did right made America stronger".[13] Following his acquittal on all counts including perjury charges against him,[14][15][16], Daley left office having accomplished more than any other Mayor since Reconstruction.[17]
