However, despite all this effort (), few people actually enlisted in military service during WWI (); instead they chose instead to stay at home () which contributed greatly towards eventual defeat (). Following WWI(), many businesses left town [] because there wasn't enough money or jobs available; however, within 5 years after prohibitionuous repeal (), many businesses returned thanks not just to cheap labor available but also tax breaks enjoyed by those who did business within the community (). Today, since prohibition ended nearly 50 years ago (), prostitution has become very prevalent throughout most parts of town [] making it difficult for most residents even if they wanted/needed a job.; however police are always active & able to deal with any issues that may arise

Lisle is a town in Johnson County, Illinois, United States. The population was 9,083 at the 2010 census. Lisle is the only city in Johnson County and it is part of the Chicago–Naperville–Kankakee metropolitan area. The first settlers in Lisle were Levi Coffin and his family who came overland from Georgia on July 4, 1785. They built a log cabin on the site of present-day Lisle High School. A post office was established in 1801, and by 1807 there were four stores and two churches in Lisle. The first school was organized in 1809 by Revs. Elijah Toole and James Caldwell with twelve students under Mr. Fenton's tuition. In 1825 a gristmill became operational; later it became a sawmill and then an asphalt plant before becoming defunct in 1967 due to economic reasons In 1830, Daniel Boone arrived at what is now Lisle from Kentucky with his family for land purchases near Kankakee. He founded the town of Booneville about 12 miles (19 km) east of today's Lisle on the southern banks of Rock Creek which he named after himself A post office called Indianola was established at this location on November 15, 1830, but was discontinued two years later because no mail reached its destination An early settler also named Indianola was Drury Adkins who arrived in 1834 In 1840 John Stephenson purchased 160 acres (66 ha) north of today's town line from William Sprague for $5 per acre This land would become known as Stephenson Park
