However, this didn’t mean that binocular production stopped; instead, new types of glasses were invented which permitted users to see clearly even in low light conditions.

Lisle, Illinois is a small town in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 3,564 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago–Naperville–Bethlehem–Easton, IL Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lisle was founded in 1837 by Captain John Hargrave and his family as a station on the Great Western Railroad. It became an incorporated city in 1903. The first permanent settler in Lisle was Captain John Hargrave from Suffolk, England who came over with General James Kieft on July 5, 1837. He and his family erected a log cabin near where present-day Wacker Drive meets Pulaski Road. The first post office was established at Lisle on November 10, 1838 by Major General Amos Kendall with four other settlers under the name of "Hargrave's Station". In 1839, Captain John Hargrave donated land to the city for public use and construction of a brick courthouse and jail were begun immediately adjacent to what is now City Hall Park. The original brick courthouse burned down in 1865 but was rebuilt and again destroyed by fire in 1916; it was finally damaged by Hurricane Agnes and replaced with a new structure which still stands today. Lisle experienced its own golden age during World War II when more than 1 million American soldiers stationed here served throughout the war including members of the US Marines’ 1st Battalion (8th Marines) who operated out of Lisle Naval Air Station from 1945 until their Okinawa deployment ended on September 2, 1945 just days after Japan’s surrender victory! In 1955 Mayor Harry Sweeny dedicated behalf of all citizens of Lisle when he proclaimed that “Lisle has had her day – we are proud to call ourselves an official city!” With population growth steady throughout much of recent history it would not be surprising to see some significant changes or expansions taking place within the next few decades if current trends hold true; however no major announcements have been madeactive recently pertaining to any potential future growth initiatives or plans for this vibrant community!

Lisle is a city in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. It was founded in 1827 and its population was 38,611 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of DuPage County. The name Lisle comes from the Ottawa and Chatham language words "liskey" meaning "a place where people can go to get water." The first permanent settler in Lisle was George Washington Butler, who arrived in 1827. He named his new town after himself, but it didn't take off until 1830 when he imported a group of Frenchmen who founded what is now La Salle University. In 1836, General Nicholas Trumbull built a post office and tavern on the original site of Lisle High School. The first school building opened in 1838. Lisle quickly became an important transportation center due to its location at the confluence of two major rivers: the Des Plaines River and the Chicago River. The opening of Chicago's main railway line made Lisle an even more important port than it had been before, and by 1860 Lisle had become one of the largest cotton ports on the Great Lakes region. Lisle also became known for its Manufacturing industry during this time period which included such companies as Armour ankles (1869-1901), McCormick & Co.(1871-1937), Belknap Rubber Company (1881-1968), Phelps Dodge (1892-1974) and Singer Sewing Machine Incorporated (1914). In 1917, local resident William Sanger founded Sanger Paper Products Company which would become one of America's most famous paper companies with products that include tissue paper, grocery bags, packaging material and other items until 2005 when it merged with KimberlyClark Companies Incorporated to form Koppers Corporation
