In 1901, Cook died and his son Emory Cook took over the company. Emory Cook designed and manufactured many different types of handguns including revolvers and pistols with loop muzzles (known today as 1911 style handguns). After years of production, Emory Cook passed away in 1928 and his son Milton Cooke took over operations as head of the company. From 1928 until his death in 1951, Milton Cookeproduced all handguns for the Lindenhurst Armory Corporation which eventually became known as Colt firearms Corporation after Repeating Arms Company agreed to distribute Colt products throughout much of America during World War II Milton Cooke's sons Virgil Cooke (1951-1982) and Donny Cooke (1982-2001) continued manufacturing until 2003 when Colt Firearms Corporation merged with Browning firearms corporation creating what is now American Outdoor Brands Incorporated

Lindenhurst is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,898 at the 2010 census. Lindenhurst is part of the Chicago metropolitan area and is located on the Fox River. The town was organized in 1847 and named for Colonel John Linden (1794-1857), an early settler and representative from Rock Island County. The first post office was established in 1853, and the first store opened in 1854. In 1865, Lindenhurst become a village when it incorporated as a result of a referendum vote. In 1870, two stores were built on what is now State Street in Lindenhurst; one by J.H. Sweetman and the other by Ebenezer Arnold. A fire destroyed both buildings on December 22, 1870; however, no one was killed or injured as a result of the fire. The only building still standing today that originally housed two stores is the Arnold building on Perry Street which replaced an older building that burned down in 1908. The settlement around Lindenhurst slowly declined during the late 19th century due to various factors such as competition from larger towns around Illinois and Iowa City with similar populations; lack of available water resources; changing agricultural practices; increased transportation costs associated with growing industry along the Fox River Valley; disease outbreaks brought about by contact with European settlers working near Lake Michigan; and competition from nearby cities such as Chicago or Des Moines for land ownership opportunities across river valleys." The decline continued into the early 20th century until there were only a few homes remaining in town after World War II when new housing developments began to rise throughout southern Illinois."
