On November 21st, 1868, Lincolnwood became an independent village under the direction of Village President Nathan Abbott with two schools and one store open to residents only; however, this soon changed when Abraham Lincoln arrived in Illinois from Springfield on October 15th and accepted an appointment as state's attorney for Cook County; he quickly began working on behalf of the village-township relationship and helped develop several transportation improvements including developing its first steamboat connection to Chicago Harbor on September 24th 1830s during his time as state's attorney-a key milestone in helping expand commerce within what would become known as The City of Chicago.. In 1901-1902 when it merged with other villages within Cook County into one municipality named after then Mayor George Bogan – later renamed after him – Lincolnwood had 9 Parks totaling 6 acres while also having 7 businesses with over 100 employees including 3 banks each represented therein outnumbering any other business entity within its boundaries at that time! In 1940 when it merged again into another municipality named after then Mayor Richard J. Daley – later renamed after him once again – it had 38 Parks totaling 25 acres while also having over 200 businesses represented therein outnumbering any other business entity within its boundaries at that time! Today still today there are more than 400 businesses represented herein making it one of “The Great Cities” not just located near “The Loop” but all throughout Northern Illinois!!!

However, by 1857, when General Abraham Lincoln moved his family to Crystal City fromSpringfield Township in Indiana for his new home at 1120 South Erie Street (now West Adams Street), he had decided that a new town should be erected near Springfield to serve as an example to other farmers and others interested in adopting improved methods of agricultureicultural production. This land was then donated by James Montgomery Davidson, one of Illinois' leading citizens and member of the State Senate; it included all that now stands within boundaries of Crystal City except for some part east ofonye Road which lies within suburbanChicago today."
