In 1903, Harry S Truman became postmaster and Hutchins took over from him as head of the mail service within three years before moving to manage all aspects of postal services withinDuPage County government (later renamed state government) under the new name American Mail Service Company before retiring in 1957. On July 1, 1966, Libertyville voters passed an ordinance ratifyingajiunction with neighboring Glenview which started operations on July 1st as a not-for-profit cooperative grocery store/apartment complex with voting membership open to all residents of both villages - including those living within 2 miles (3 km) of either village limits! With limited space available along Center Road and only 7 acres (.2 km2) of retail storefront space available for business development prior to joiniing Glenview, Amsco quickly outgrew its original facility footprint; today's privately owned shopping center fronts Northwest Expressway just east of I-294 exit 169A! Libertyville is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 508 at the 2010 census. It was founded on October 1, 1835 by John Lewis and his wife Sarah. Libertyville is one of the oldest cities in Illinois. The first settler in Libertyville was John Lewis who arrived on October 1, 1835. He and his wife Sarah were the first people to settle in what is now Libertyville. They built a cabin on a small stream that flowed through the town. In 1836, they had two children - John and Mary Lewis (later Mrs. Abraham Lincoln). John Lewis served as mayor of Libertyville from 1840 to 1843 and from 1850 to1853. He also served as justice of the peace for the town from 1840 to 1851 and from1854 to 1860; he also held office as postmaster for six years before his death in 1865. Sarah Lewis married Abraham Lincoln on January 6, 1830, when she was twenty-one years old and he was thirty-six years old. They had three children: Samuel (born December 12th, 1830), Mary Todd Lincoln (born November 17th, 1834),and Edward Moseley Lincoln (born May 2nd 1850). Abraham Lincoln served as Mayor of Libertyville from 1865 until his assassination on April 14th 1865
