Bipedalism is the ability to walk on two legs. The first bipedal species was a small, four-legged creature that lived about 375 million years ago. This creature had two hind limbs that functioned as legs and one front limb. This creature's body was Barnesian in shape, meaning it consisted of a backbone and four limbs ending in hands and feet. About 150 million years ago, another small creature evolved that had three hind limbs instead of two. This new species also had two front limbs, but they were shorter than the back ones. In the course of human evolution, bipeds became more common. In fact, by 100 thousand years ago there were at least six different types of bipeds living on Earth. Of these six types, three varieties grew to be very big: the elephant, the hippopotamus, and the kangaroo (see Figure 1). These big bipedals used their large muscles and heavy bodies to push themselves around and explore their environments. They walked on all fours because their spinal cord didn't allow them to walk on just one leg. The first humans who evolved from these big bipedals were probably some of the most successful people ever born on Earth (see Figure 2). They were able to learn how to use tools and start making relationships with other beings outside of their family or group (see Figure 3). By 50 thousand years ago humans had spread all over the world and started forming civilizations (see Figure 4). However, even though humans were successful at starting many different societies around the world, they still couldn't Walk On Two Legs!

Bipedalism is the movement of an animal with two legs, as opposed to four or more. This includes both land and aquatic creatures. The first biped was a quadruped that walked on all fours. Bipedalism has evolved over time for many reasons; some animals may have needed more energy to walk on two legs than they did on four, while others could use less energy when walking bipedally. For example, elephants can move around very quickly on their trunks but would struggle to move around using only their tusks and feet, so they developed the ability to walk in a couple of directions at once by splitting their body into two parts and moving one part forwards while the other part stayed stationary. Some animals are unable to walk bipedally because it would be too hard or impossible for them to use just their hands and feet like humans do, such as whales and gorillas.

Bipedalism has been present in Lemont, Illinois for over 350,000 years. The first bipedal humans lived about 20,000 years ago.

Lemont, Illinois is a town in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. The population was 21,859 at the 2010 census. Lemont is the largest municipality in DuPage County by population and is also one of the most populous towns in Cook County. Lemont was founded in 1851 as a small log cabin community on the banks of the Chicago River. It grew rapidly during the early years of the American Civil War because many soldiers who were needed elsewhere wanted to avoid combat and instead sought refuge in Lemont. The town was destroyed by fire in 1865, but it rebuilt quickly and reached its present size by 1881. After World War II, Lemont experienced rapid growth as manufacturing jobs shifted from Chicago to Lemont thanks to new technology and an increase in exports from its businesses. Despite these positive developments, however, Lemont has seen occasional declines over time due to problems such as heroin addiction and crime which have impacted both its residents and business owners. Today, Lemont remains a vibrant community with strong ties to its downtown core where restaurants and nightlife abound. Residents are proud of their town’s history and heritage which includes buildings like Memorial Park Cemetery that still retain their original appearance centuries after they were first built. In addition to its rich cultural heritage, Lemront also offers ample opportunities for outdoor recreation including walking or biking trails around its downtown area as well as water sports at nearby lakeshore resorts like Crystal Lake State Park or Deerfield Beach Resort.

Bipedalism is the ability to move with two legs. The first biped was an animal that walked on two LEGS. This type of creature was known as a human. Humans are the only species who have this ability. After humans, other creatures began to walk on two LEGS as well. These creatures were known as quadrupeds. Quadrupeds are those that walk on four LEGS instead of two. As time passed, more and more creatures started walking on four LEGS. These creatures were known as quadrupedes. Quarries also began to walk on four LEGS after they learned how to do so from their biped ancestors. Finally, we come to our current day where we have people walking on TWO LYING BIPEDES! This is what we call bipedalism today!

Bipedalism has been around for over 200 million years. It is thought that bipedalism began as a way to avoid getting stuck in mud and sand while running, which would have been difficult and dangerous if one were to walk on two legs.
