Gun swivels have a long and varied history in Lansing, Illinois. The first guns with this type of trigger were made in 1892 by John Browning. After World War I, interest in automatic pistols grew, so manufacturers began to make gun swivels that could be adjusted to adjust the angle of the breech face on firing rifles. In 1934, the National Firearms Act was passed which banned all handguns except those manufactured by federally licensed dealers. As a result, gun swivels became illegal in Michigan. However, they continued to be produced and sold throughout most of the United States until 1978 when they were permanently banned nationwide by Congress as part of the Gun Control Act of 1968.

In 1701, General Anthony Wayne led an army through this area and destroyed Vasa; thereafter, no European settlement occurred in that vicinity for more than 50 years until British explorer John George Forbes discovered what became Lansing on July 12, 1813 while exploring southwest Michigan Territory under treaty terms with Spain during his exploration expedition called Tremont Expedition. On December 8, 1815, Detroit was designated as the capital City by act from Congress which included land northward along Lake Superior then being acquired from French Canada as part of Point de la Hache Purchase agreement between United States and Great Britain; however no buildings were built until 1824 when Third United States Capitol Building was completed using money contributed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens designed by Willis Auld based on sketches made by him while Chief Engineer for Indiana Company Lands Survey Office across river at present day State Fairgrounds across from current First Bank building where State House used to be before it burned down September 23rd 1865 In 1836–37 Nicholas Paullusky served as president pro tempore (president) in the Michigan Senate; he had been elected unopposed after William Linton resigned because he could not serve out consecutive two-year terms due to termlimits set forth in Constitution Article III Section 4(a). Lansing, Illinois is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, and is the county seat of Shiawassee County. The population was 17,721 at the 2010 census.[1] Lansing became an incorporated municipality on December 15, 1874,[2] and adopted its present name on October 14, 1907. It was one of the original eight townships in Wayne County created by Act 2 of 1871[3] following the take-over of that part of Michigan from Indiana by President Abraham Lincoln as part of his Vandalia Purchase. Lansing's location at the mouth of the Ottawa River made it important for early transportation and trade with Canada and other parts of Northwestern America. In 1892–1893, Lansing built a first permanent steamboat landing on what is now Lake Huron Boulevard to serve as a commercial center for local shipping. The town also developed a cotton gin and several brickyards during this time period. The post-World War II boom years were marked by rapid growth in manufacturing in Lansing; however, job losses during recession hit hard especially among those industries hardest hit: defense contracting jobs in nearby Ann Arbor or Flintshire Township; chemical plants near Detroit; auto production at Pontiac/Grosse Pointe; and aluminum smelting at Canton Township.[4][5][6][7] After decades plagued by high unemployment rates,[8] Lansing experienced dramatic dropoffs in crime rates beginning in the late 1990s while still experiencing large outmigration to similar sized cities such as Detroit or Chicago due to loss of jobs across all industries - not just those aforementioned ones which have been typical over recent decades. However Mackinac Center for Public Policy Research[9] has stated that although these consistent trends may be indicative that there are negative overall effects emanating from economic decline caused primarily by aggressive job expansion (i) even if these outcomes persistently undercut community well-being through disparities within income levels, wealth accumulation etc., they do not provide evidence sufficient to back up claims that Mackinac Center has made about specific patterns or causes thereof’ whereupon this organization ceased operations after six years’ monitoring
