Once all nominees have been received and analyzed by the commission it's sent back to politicofficialdom for approval before being forwarded to the full court where they will receive hearings and vote upon personally if approved unanimously (which happens only 2% of time). If not approved unanimously then it goes back into circulation among different committees until one candidate is finally picked who will then become an official judge in Illinois

Justice, Illinois history began on January 20, 1837 when a group of settlers led by Captain James K. Polk arrived in the town of Jacksonville, Illinois. The town was founded by General David Dixon during the Illini War and had been abandoned by the military. Polk purchased Jacksonville from Dixon for $1,000 and renamed it after himself. The first courthouse in Jacksonville was built in 1840 and served as the center of government for the area until 1846 when the new state capital was established in Springfield. In 1847, Chicago became a city and Jacksonville became its second city. However, Jacksonville would go through multiple changes over the years because of its location: It would become a village in 1866; be annexed to Cook County in 1893; become a part of DuPage County in 1907; and be renamed again to Jacksonville after World War II ended as part of the Strom Thurmond administration’s efforts to rename all large American cities post-war. The downtown area that is now known as Old Town was once home to many businesses and warehouses that were destroyed or taken down during the war effort or followingindustrialization. Today only some remnants remain: A Wharf Café located on State Street between Washington and Randolph Streets; an African American church located on Walnut Street between Washington and Randolph Streets; plus two small buildings at 2nd Avenue North near Jackson Boulevard which are used currently as office space for Midwestern Regional Business District (MRBD).
