The Huntley Knife Company was founded in 1881 by William H. Huntley and his brothers, all of whom were natives of Huntley, Illinois. The company produced a wide variety of kitchen knives and hunting tools, including switchblades, Bowie knives, hatchets, and ice skaters. In 1924 the company was sold to the Whetstone Cutlery Company.
Huntley is a small town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,417 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Carbondale-Merrill Community School District. Huntley was laid out in 1847 by John Hunt and his brother James Hunt. The first settler in Huntley was Elijah Hogg, who built a cabin on the north side of the creek near where it flows into Carbondale Creek. In 1850, James Hunt founded what would become Carbondale and erected the first store there. In 1867, John Dacus arrived from Ohio with his family and began trading goods for corn from settlers in Carbondale and other areas around town. By 1868, Dacus had a grocery store and several whitesmith shops in town. He also started a lumberyard that produced many of Carbondale's early shotguns and rifles. In 1871, Jesse Fenton bought land east of town from John Dacus to build a farm named after him – Fenton Farms. A year later, he added an additional home to his farmstead which still stands today on Elmira Road near the intersection of Prescott Road and Park Avenue (now Old Main Street). Fenton served as village president during its formative years before moving to Peoria in 1893 when that city became its seat following annexation by Chicago.. The five original schools located around town: Ursuline Catholic Church (no longer extant), Episcopal church (built 1865), Presbyterian church (1873), Methodist church (1875) all closed within 10 years because either they were no longer needed or because enrollment fell below capacity due to increasing travel times for education outside oftowns like Carbondale/Merrillville etc.). In 1886 Union High School opened adjacent to Ursuline Catholic Church; this school would remain open until it closed burned down in 1903! Huntleys only post office opened on May 25th 1888 - this building still stands today along with most of the infrastructure associated with it including an old fire engine used for Quonset hoses during prohibition days! According to 1910 census data: 284 residents lived in village; 511 residents lived inside limits of village; 2 Residents lived beyond limits of village boundaries

Huntley is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, about 12 miles (19 km) east of Chicago. It was founded in 1836 by Methodist missionaries named John Hunt and his wife Lydia. The first post office was established in Huntley in 1839. Huntley became a city in 1903. The population was 21,269 as of the 2010 census. Huntley is one of the few remaining towns on the original Illinois Central Railroad line fromChicago toomingo Junction where trains stopped for passengers along the way to Green Bay and other points west. This railroad corridor has been used by many people including farmers, riders on stagecoaches, lumberjacks and even particle physicists over the years. The first settler in Huntley was James Hargrave who arrived around 1836 with his family from Vermont. He built a log cabin near what is now Main Street. One account says that when Hargrave saw an opening he took advantage of it and started cutting logs for a cabin himself; however this may have been an exaggeration or he simply used his personal resources to start a new community which would soon become known as Huntley
Huntley, Illinois was founded in 1814 by the brothers Elijah and Abram Hunt. The town was named after their father, John Hunt. The first post office in Huntsville was established in 1816, and the first store was built in 1818. The town grew rapidly during the 1800s, and by 1900 it had a population of over 1,000. In 1915, Huntley became a city.
