EI is home to Eastern Illinois University’s main campus as well as numerous businesses including Sears Holdings Corporation’s Kmart location; Continental Airlines; American Eagle Airlines; and Pembroke Park Racetrack & Casino which opened its doors on July 1st, 2015 just weeks after IKEA announced it would open its new headquarters adjacent to Eastern Illinois University’s main campus at Grayslake-Hickory hills Airport! An annual Pumpkin Patch Festival takes place on October 15th starting at 6pm throughout downtown Hickory Hill with live music by local bands from 4pm until sunset!
