Notwithstanding occasional fires that burned through much of central Illinois during early history (the last such inferno taking place in Little Rockville township near present day Arlington Heights on April 30th 1865), Hickory Hills has continued to thrive since its establishment over 350 years ago! Today there are more than 165 businesses downtown including several pawn shops where you can buy your favorite country music CDs or DVDs! There also are several restaurants - both national chains and locally owned - offering delicious cuisine from all over North America! Plus there are numerous gift stores selling everything from clothes to housewares! In addition to their fine schools - Hickory Hills residents have always been proud authors - many residents also maintain their own home-built log cabins used as summerhouses or parsonage homes while attending various functions such as concerts or ball games!.
