There are also several science museums located within the boundaries of Hazel Crest including one devoted to natural sciences (the Science Museum of America), one focused on technology (Technology Museum of Illinois), one dedicated to history (History Museum of Illinois), and one devoted to arts and culture (Art Institute of Chicago).

In 1925, the company merged with Armour Rubber Company to form Armour-Hazel Corporation. In 1957, the company merged with United States Steel to form United States Steel Corporation.
