There have been various types of gun pouches since the dawn of firearms. The firstGun Pouch was made in 1795 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte, a French arms manufacturer. It consisted of a leather strap with an opening at one end and a buckle at the other, used to secure a musket or pistols in place on the person. The Gun Pouch was replaced in 1825 by the Pistol Pouch, which had two straps twisted together to form one large loop. This pouch was worn over the shoulder like a belt and could hold up to eight firearms. In 1851, John Hargrave designed and created the first holster for handguns known as the Colt Python Holster. It featured an adjustable retention system that allowed for different firearm trajectories and shotshells to be fired without ruining your weapon’s accuracy. The holster also included an improved trigger guard that made it more comfortable to use. In 1892, Adolph Eugene Steyr introduced his own design for a handgun holster called the Steyr AUG Holster. It became popular due to its slim profile and easy access to ammunition magazines. The holsters were eventually copied by many other manufacturers including Glock, Smith & Wesson, Beretta, S&W Model 638 revolvers and Ruger American revolver series models (ejection ports on some models). The Gun Pouch remained popular through World War II until it was replaced by pistol belts as the primary carry method for handguns during that time period because of their increased security features compared to traditional wallets or purses/pockets on individuals’ bodies

Hazel Crest is a town in McHenry County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2000 census. Hazel Crest is located on the eastern border of the county and is bordered by Will County to the north, Kane County to the east, and McHenry County to the south. The remainder of Hazel Crest is within Porter Township. It was first settled in 1848 by John Browning and his family. In 1853, Abraham Hare moved from Hebron in Pennsylvania to start a cattle ranch here. In 1861, John Daugherty bought land from Hare and founded Hazel Crest as a community for freed slaves who had been coming here since the Civil War. Daugherty's son-in-law Andrew Jepsen became its first postmaster in 1872. The Community School District #1 provides education through grades K-12 for residents of Hazel Crest and Porter Township surrounding it. Hazel Crest has a small business district which includes several banks, two insurance companies, and one real estate company among others

Hazel Crest is a small town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now Hazel Crest was George Washington Carver who arrived in 1847 and started a family farm. In 1854, James Boggs built a sawmill on the stream that flows through the town. By 1880, there were five businesses in Hazel Crest: AGRO (now Clifton Farms), Carver's store, Piggly Wiggly grocery store, and two blacksmith shops. In 1905, Samuel Slater opened his millinery shop in Hazel Crest. After World War I ended with America's entry into World War I and Italy entering into war against Austria-Hungary, Hazel Crest became an early center for munitions production due to its location at the junction of three railways - one running east to Chicago and another running west to St Joseph. A post office was established in Hazel Crest on November 15, 1889; it was renamed St Joseph after being moved from Clintonville to Hazel Crest from Trinity Springs Township on July 1 of that year. The first postmaster was John Fenton who served for six years until 1893 when he was replaced by Homan Dillard Jr.. Dillard later served as mayor from 1927 until his retirement in 1951. From 1926 until 1949 he also served as vice president of Post Office Service Company of America (POSCO). The school system which formed around this time included grades PreK-4th grade (grades 5-7th grade were added later), then high school subjects starting 8th grade; currently there are 7 elementary schools (grades K-5th) and 3 middle schools (grades 6-8th) with plans to add 4 more during 2018–19 school year alone; High School #2 closed permanently due to budget cuts while HBHS 17 remains open but without classes so it can be used as an adult daycare center Hazel Crest has been consistently rated among "the best" public schools within 25 miles by "Newsweek". In 1969 they won “Best School District” award from Illinois Municipal League Magazine
