In 1867, a group of farmers in Harvey, Illinois founded the Harvey Agricultural and Manufacturing Company. The company became one of the leading agricultural producers in Illinois. In 1902, the company purchased an entire farmstead in Harvey, which is now known as the Harvey Plantation Museum.
