Hanover Park is a small town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,814 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first settler in Hanover Park was Edward Rolfe who arrived about 1815. He and his family became the nucleus of what would become the town's early settlers. Arthur Tabor, one of Hanover Park's most notable citizens, bought 1,000 acres (400 ha) of land near present-day Halsted Street and Cicero Avenue in 1847. He began to build a brick house which still stands today—the first structure within Hanover Park limits. The town's first school was built on Chicago Road north of Halsted Street in 1850 by Mrs. Elisha Butterfield (later Mrs. George Pullman). At that time there were no schools within reach for children living outside of Chicago or for those living in rural areas like Hanover Park where public education wasn't available until after World War II. In 1854, Samuel Hinsdale donated land east of Cicero Avenue to form what would become Iowa State Normal School – now Northwestern University – and founded an agricultural college on it known as Hinsdale Agricultural College; later renamed Illinois State Normal University (ISNU). ISNU remains one of the two main campuses for higher education in Cook County today and offers degrees such as law, business administration, engineering and health sciences along with certificates and diplomas from continuing courses leading to professional degrees such as doctorate or mastership degree from universities such as ISNU itself or other institutions around Chicagoland? In 1857 John Pritzker moved from New York City to start a cotton mill at what is now Prairie du Chien Airport; he named it Pritzker Mills after his father-in-law Abraham Lincoln who had been president when he moved to America some years before that! When production stopped due to financial problems caused by low prices for cotton following American Civil War on JR Reid & Sons' Mill #2 located just off I-65 just south of downtown Chicago IL John Pritzker sold his interest back to Abraham Lincoln so they could continue operation under new name: Lincoln National Cotton Company! Abraham Lincoln died soon afterwards so John Pritzker changed company name back again: J&P Reid & Co!. profits continued drop however because during Reconstruction period there were few jobs available for young men coming out of military service & many went into crime including prostitution which increased greatly during this time! Finally J&P Reid closed their doors permanently due to competition from mills being built nearby by companies like Dodge Power Plant followed by Comercial Steel Works(now ArcelorMittal) building next door which destroyed entire village center killing more than 60 people!! This made local businesses close down including miller Isaac Reed who lived 3 miles (4 km) away from centre when plant opened & ran all local shops shutters!! Overall event restored community confidence enough for old timers like myself (& others involved at time)to come back home & initiate effort TO MANAGE CLOSED MILLS WASTE Land reverted back over 100yrs hence becoming part OF COMMUNITY EDUCATION FUNDING Paths blazed then HorizonsCreated
