Shotguns were once another common choice for self-defense purposes however they are no longer as common as they once were due to their high cost and complexity compared to other firearms . However , shotgun ownership still remains a popular choice among gun owners there are many different types available onthe market today including pump shotguns ( such as shotguns made by Savage Arms) and bolt action shotguns (such as those made by Remington). Rifle use has decreased significantly in recent years however it still remains an important part of self-defense . One common type of rifle used for self-defense is the assault rifle which was originally designed for military use however it can also be used for civilian purposes . Assault rifles can be both semiautomatic firearms ( like those produced by Colt ) or fully automatic firearms ( like those produced by ARMS ). They generally differ based on their lethality when firing rounds at targets far away from themselves As you can see, there are many different types of pistols, shotguns, rifles and Mace that have been used in order to defend oneself against assailants or attackers. It should also be noted that not all these weapons were actually developed specifically for self-defense purposes; some devices such as pepper spray were actually developed primarilyfor other purposes such as riot control or policing

It is adjacent to Lake Michigan and the city of Chicago. The village of Gurnee was founded in 1836 by subscription from a group of farmers who were lessees on land east of the Dearborn River that had been purchased by Major George Stephenson in 1824. In 1839, Gurnee Township was organized and named for General James Muhlenberg, commander of American forces during the Mexican War and later Secretary of War under Ulysses S. Grant. A post office called Gurnee was established in 1841, and remained open until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1830, Daniel Webster became one of the first members of Congress from Illinois; he served two terms (1831–33) before moving to Springfield. Webster's wife Elizabeth (née Hanks) moved with him and their children to Gurnee in 1835-36 and they lived there until his death in 1840 at age 41 after serving as State Senator from Illinois for three terms (1834–38). They are buried together at Mount Auburn Cemetery near Boston where her husband died also aged 41 years after serving as state senator for 3 terms: see "Webster family tree". After his death she married an anonymous man some time before her death around 1880 or so according to family lore but this has never been proven beyond reasonable doubt; she did leave behind four children with her second husband: one son survived into adulthood but left no living descendants other than one sister living currently outside the US One common legend about Daniel Webster's widow is that she married someone while he still lived at home because she wanted a dowry for her son when he came out into society; however this story does not match up with any information we have about Mrs. Webster's life or personal history prior to marrying her second husband which suggests she may have simply decided this particular option upon marriage rather than waiting until Daniel Webster died first if it would've caused any problems down the road (elderly parents can marry multiple times without facing such issues).
