Daley and were henceforth known as “the City of GlennVIEW” (although their mayor still retains ultimate authority). The community experienced growth during World War II when many jobs were created by military bases located in nearby Westchester and Northbrook. However, during the late 1940s through early 1960s when employment opportunities declined at these installations, crime increased rapidly throughout much of northern Cook County; this led to increasing calls for tighter gun control laws across America which affected only Chicago-based neighborhoods while leaving suburban communities unaffected until later on in that decade when problems began emanating from communities such as Oak Lawn-Uptown Park and Lawndale-Antioch Hills where guns had been freely available for decades before any tightening regulation occurred. This issue would come to be called “The Gun Control Debate” throughout much of America during this time period with few if any changes taking place despite growing public demand leading up to it while downtown Chicago remained largely unscathed until relatively recently when large numbers of high-crime areas have begun developing quickly adjacent to downtown – once again highlighting how closely related gun control policies are actually Village & City issues rather than just one or another

Glenview, Illinois is a town in Kankakee County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,512 at the 2010 census. The original village of Glenview was located in what is now the Town of Danville and was founded in 1837. It merged with the larger town of Danville on April 1, 1907. The first settler in what is now Glenview was John DeWitt who arrived there from Vermont on October 12, 1837. He built a log cabin near present-day Pella and named it after his home state of New York. In 1840 DeWitt married Elizabeth Atherton and they moved to what is now the Village of Glenview which had been organized as a village on November 3 that year by act of the General Assembly. At its incorporation date, July 8, 1853, Glenview had a total area of , all land within then-Kankakee County except for part of present-day Danville which lay within St Clair Township. Malice Wheelock established herself as one of the early female residents when she moved into her own house in December 1853 just east of present day Park Avenue and continued to reside there until her death in 1886. In 1907, the Glenview School District was formed and began serving students from throughout central Illinois.
