The current high school, Glen Carbon Jr./Sr., opened its doors to students on September 15th, 1998 after years of construction and renovation project which included an addition for basketball/volleyball courts as well as new classrooms and athletic fields inside an existing garage satellite park off State Street between Glenn Road (now Old Hickory Boulevard) and Main Street (now Cumberland Avenue).
