On July 12, 1992, FSL Radio Corporation (FM) came to Glencarbon with plans to build a transmitter broadcasting on 102.3 FM for Class A local advertising purposes only. The signal would be used primarily by gas stations across McLean County during rush hours to promote their services without having to compete with WGN-TV's powerful signal or Clear Channel Communications' Tower Broadcasting Service affiliate WWJ-TV which aired programming from home plate locations throughout Northern Illinois hillslope).
