Tasers have a long and varied history in Geneva, Illinois. The first taser guns were made by the DeSoto Manufacturing Company in 1951. They were used as police officers' weapons for training purposes. The United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) began licensing taser manufacturers in 1984. In 1990, the Geneva Police Department began using tasers as a weapon on an experimental basis. The department was the first to use them on full-time basis in Geneva. Tasers were eventually adopted by other departments in Switzerland and Austria before being introduced to the United States in 1995. The American Taser Association (ATA) was founded in 1991 as part of the NRA biannual meeting attended by gun owners from across the country interested in learning more about firearms that could be used as incapacitating devices with select fire capabilities up to 10 rounds per trigger pull (.40 S&W). At that time, there was much research and development going on with electric stunners such as those used by law enforcement agencies around the world including Geneva's own Geneva Police Department which had been using them since 1984 when they became available through private dealers/manufacturers who had special relationships with local authorities throughout North America including Canada where they were also originally developed. In 1995 General Dynamics Electric Boat Corporation created a new company called "GMD" which until its sale to Raytheon Co LLC under another name late last year specialized exclusively in this type of device - rapidly becoming one of only a few companies worldwide that can provide 'select fire' capability for an electric stunner - making it unique among any number of products currently available on today's market place simply because it does not exist at any other scale anywhere else! As we all know now over 25 years later these original prototypes testing guns into daily use by our Law Enforcement Officers here at Geneva PD went thru many changes due mainly to requests from other Law Enforcement Agencies all over America wanting access or variations upon what we had maybe some folks here thinking just like us would like to do something pretty darnSame old same old I say? Geneva is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,542 at the 2010 census. Geneva is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. It is the only village in Cook County without a city status. Geneva was founded as a Shawnee Indian place on the banks of the Kankakee River by Kiowa and Otoe traders in 1810. A post office called Geneva was established in 1814, and remained in operation until 1959. The village center was built between 1906 and 1908 by Consolidated Gas Company employees as their work camp for constructing their new natural gas pipeline through what is now Geneva Township. The $2 million project included the construction of an 8-story building with an attached garage and several other buildings nearby including a church, schoolhouse, grocery store, Creamery No 2 (now known as Shoprite), Waffle House (now occupied by First Midwest Bank), hotel rooms for company executives and workers during construction, plus recreational facilities such as tennis courts and rifle ranges. The sites were used until early 2011 when they were sold to Zurich Properties LLC for $40 million cash plus future development rights. Zurich Properties LLC plans to demolish all but one of the structures from the original camp site which will leave behind a single high-rise apartment building complete with rooftop gardens overlooking Lake Michigan that could be leased out as overnight rentals or used for weddings or other events; also planned are two more retail buildings totaling 60 units; additional residential units may be developed onsite if sales proceeds allow it; street parking will remain available for residents within walking distance of most services while commercial space adjacent to high-rise provides east/west facing business opportunities As part of its redevelopment plan, Zurich Properties LLC has also agreed to invest up to $100 million into infrastructure projects such as sewer repairs and upgrades;BT Tower expansion across Northwest Side streets taking frontage onto East Washington Street near State Street - this would be followed by renovation/newconstruction of four existing buildings on stateowned land next to Park West Campus - these would house employee housing along with associated businesses including cafes/restaurants/theater complex; ultimate goal being that all office tenants move into newbuildings once initial tenant improvements are completed In January 2016 it was announced that real estate giant Blackstone Group had put forth bids totaling over $1 billion for both first phase(s) Clifton Tower – 350 condo units –[and] One Lincoln Center – 1M+ condos.[ remaining][phase two] With prices set atormer lows despite major league baseball’s presence,[Blackstone founder menachem blackstone III eyes west sidereal estate property] [/B][/I][/P][/R][/FONT][/CENTER] Clifton Tower: 350 Condo Units [Phase 1], 1M+ condos Phase 2 One Lincoln Center: 1M+ condos

Geneva, Illinois is a small town located in the Sangamon Valley of central Illinois. It began as a farming community in 1839, and since then has grown to be one of the most important agricultural and manufacturing centers in the state. The town was given its name from Geneva, Switzerland, where Swiss refugees had settled during the American Civil War. The population of Geneva peaked at 16,000 in 1925, but today it remains relatively small with a population of 7,500 (2010). The history of Geneva begins with three families who arrived on April 30, 1839, when five men and five women set out from Yorkville for what would become Geneva. They traveled by wagon train overland to Cairo Township on the banks of the river Pekin. From there they took boats downriver to Nutbush Landing on the Illinois side of the river. There they built their first cabin and started growing crops. The first store was opened in 1840 by Wm. Halsey and his son Amos Halsey II. In 1847 John Dickey bought land adjacent to John Halsey’s farm and formed a partnership with him called Dickey & Smith which grew into one of Sangamon County’s leading landowners through agriculture and real estate transactions throughout this period. In 1861 two brothers named Aiken founded Kapp & Aiken flour mills on Clinton Street across from Waterloo Elementary School after purchasing an old gristmill that rested atop a hill overlooking downtownGeneva. This mill continued operation until World War II when it was destroyed by fire due to carelessness by employees; however photos taken at that time show extensive damage done to both buildings including collapsed floors and missing walls resultant from severe flooding caused by heavy rainstorm events just prior tothe fire which damaged many homes within sight ofthe mill). After World War II ended there were several developments taking place in Geneva such as Mills Corporation Building being erected between 1951-1957 which became home office for General Motors Corporation; Addition Of shopping center forming mall near intersectionof Clintonand Elm Streets 1957-1960; First Professional Football League game played here 1962 featuring Streator Cardinals vs Decatur Wildcats* *Note: AFL game played at United States Olympic Stadium rather than against Streator Cardinals
