In Freeport, Illinois, there are many businesses that sell and/or rent scopes for all sorts of purposes. Some of these businesses date back centuries, while others are newer and just starting up. All of them offer a variety of scopes for sale or rental, as well as accessories and services related to using them. One business that has been in business since 1892 is the Freeport Optical Company. This company was founded by two men who were very interested in optics – Adolphus Freeport Sr., an inventor and businessman, and his son Adolphus Jr., an optician. The original Freeport Optical Company was located on Lewis Street in downtown Freeport. It was open to the public from 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday, and from noon to 5pm Saturday and Sunday. The company provided high-quality telescopes for anyone who wanted one – legal or illegal (!). In 1957, the company relocated its operations to what is now the old Masonic Lodge on County Road 20A in rural northwestern Illinois. Under new ownership (the present day owner) the company continued providing quality telescopes until it went out of business in 1978! Today, many people remember seeing stars at night thanks to those early Scopetrons! Interestingly enough, not all businesses that sell or rentScope spectacles have been around forever! One such business is called Lighthouse Optics which opened its doors in 1984! Previously known as JPL Telescopes & Accessories (now parts unknown), this store specialized exclusively in selling used astronomical equipment! At first glance this might seem like a strange choice given the popularity of homebuilt scopes today; however consider that back then Lighthouse Optics was one of the few companies authorized by NASA to sell Galileo Galileiscope models! How could they not be popular?!!

However, rifleScopes can be quite costly and require some experience before using them effectively at high range settings; additionally, their resolution may not be up to par with those found in other types of scopes.

Freeport is located on the Fox River and its namesake is an iron foundry that produced cannons for the American Revolution. The first Europeans to sight Freeport were Frenchmen who landed there in 1679 and named it "Ville de la Prairie" after their horse-drawn cart ride through the rural area around La Prairie. A post office called Freeport was established in 1824, but no town started to grow up near it until 1871 when John Waddell built a sawmill on what is now Main Street. By 1881, there were ninety-six businesses in Freeport with a payroll of $1 million. In 1907, Jens Jensen opened his store on State Street which became one of the largest stores in town and remains open today as Jens Jensen's Store #2. In 1927, Addison Reed bought a controlling interest in Big Can Lake Iron Works from George Hynes who had been its president since 1904. The company grew rapidly due to new investments by Reed and other entrepreneurs, producing canoes for boating (the company still makes boats), autos (the first Ford automobiles were made here), radios (the Radio Corporation of America was founded here), airplanes (it built both Boeing 707s and DC-3s), steel products (Freeport Steel & Wire Company became one of America's leading producers of stainless steel) as well as munitions such as machine guns and artillery shells during World War II; however most production stopped during the war because large parts of Europe were embargoed from being exported to the United States because of Axis aggression toward Allied nations such as Japan; however some products continued like radios and automobiles into postwar years Reed died suddenly in 1952 while Executive Vice President Dick Cheney was attending his inauguration ceremony at Ulysses S Grant Presidential Library across from McCormick Place where Cheney later served as President George W Bush Freeport has seen periodic economic expansions throughout its history despite difficult times due to global recession beginning before World War II followed by numerous technological advances which have outpaced traditional manufacturing industries worldwide including digital printing technology which led to increased demand for aluminum cans In recent years Freeport has experienced significant growth thanksmainly Due To Its Good Manufacturing Practices

Freeport was a small, unincorporated community in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It was located on the west bank of the Mississippi River at its junction with the Chicago and Rock Island Railroad. The community had a post office from 1881 to 1902. The first settlers in Freeport were two hardships named Haggerty and Brown. They arrived in 1848, when the area was part of Michigan Territory. When the territory was dissolved in 1849, they moved to what is now West Dundee Township on the opposite side of town from where they had originated. There they started a store and built a cabin. In 1851 they organized themselves into a town and began trading with other towns along the river for goods brought overland by travelers. The first school was erected here in 1853; it became an open-air schoolhouse in 1865 when it burned down. In 1861 Freeport became an incorporated village under the name of Racine; it changed back to Freeport after World War II because of its proximity to Chicago proper. The city of Freeport, Illinois was founded in 1847 and became a city on November 1, 1868. The city's original name was "Butler". It was renamed Freeport in honor of Admiral George Dewey who fought in the Spanish-American War and later served as U.S. Secretary of the Navy.
