From 1865 to 1917, there were also several saloons and general stores along Wabash Avenue including Fenton's Drug Store which closed down in 1945 but reopened under new ownership as South Side Joe's tavern/grocery store from 1948 to 1951 before closing again for good that year; finally Britannia Drugstore opened on Wabash Avenue at 92nd Street NW from 1902-1903 and continued operations until it went out of business circa 1957 when it was replaced by Dearborn Pharmacy next door on State Route 1210 ().
