On July 12, 1892, a group of men and boys founded the National Rifle Association in Belleville, Illinois. The goal of the NRA was to promote gun education and hunting under the belief that arms should be accessible to all Americans. The first modern shooting ranges were established in Evergreen Park in 1903. Evergreen Park has been home to some of the most famous shooters in history such as Jesse James (1896-1948), Sam Haines (1910-1989), and Robert Lewis Dear (1974-2001). In 1979, Evergreen Park became the home of Glock Corporation's headquarters. Glock is best known for their firearms products and manufacturing operations outside of North America.

Evergreen Park is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 137,331 at the 2010 census. It is the tenth-largest city in Illinois and the second-most populous in Chicago after Chicago Heights. The village of Evergreen Park was incorporated as a city on November 4, 1907. The area now comprising Evergreen Park was first settled by French Canadians who arrived from Quebec in the early 1800s. They built cabins along what is now Northwest Side Road and founded a small community called "L'Auberge du Rocher" which later became part of Ottawa. In 1837, Anthony de Lemont acquired 2,000 acres (100 km²) of land on the northwest side of Chicago to become what would become Evergreen Park. He named it for his home village in France—Auberge du Rocher meaning "famed inn". The first post office opened in 1839 with De Lemont as its first occupant; it remained open until 1913. In 1847, John Hennepin donated land to be used for public school purposes near nowadays's Michigan Avenue and Lake Shore Drive; this donation formed the nucleus of today's campus of Northwestern University and has been cited as one of the earliest examples of modern urban planning. On October 15, 1907, Evergreen Park incorporation papers were filed with Cook County Recorders Office by Mayor James Jelliffe with plans to create an independent city governed by aldermen rather than mayor/city council combination typical then or anyplace else in Illinois at that time. Incorporation papers also noted that property boundaries would remain unchanged since 1907 when much of present day Evergreen Park was annexed from Holland Township eastward into Cook County following their annexation race riots there two years earlier (see Timeline: Cook County annexation). On December 3rd 1907 Mayor Jelliffe issued proclamation naming all inhabitants within City limits "Evergreens." This event marks not only inception but also continued growth within City Limits as properties north and south were annexed without question or protest during these years while residents still considered themselves citizens OF CITY LIMITS even though portions lay within other municipalities! By 1920 over 50% OF EVERGREEK PARK CITY WAS IN COOK COUNTY...WE ARE NOW LESS THAN 1/3 OF THE TOTAL POPULATION! As evergreens quickly grew more organized they lobbied hard for inclusion within larger cities such as Chicago where they felt they had been neglected throughout their history up til then especially due to various factors including lack thereof civic engagement & infrastructure development BY LARGE CITIES AUTHORITY & POLITICAL POWER AWAY FROM THEIR ACTUALResidents began recognizing & protesting AGAINST ANY FORM OF CONTROL BY LARGE CITY AUTHORITY OVER THEM thru Community Forums held monthly (& sometimes more frequently), Petitioning Politicians incessantly until finally being successful (& resulting In Increased Funding Available To Localities For Infrastructure Development)which finally led TO THEIR INCorporation INTO CHICAGO ON NOVEMBER 4TH 2007

These days we would likely just wear a Headset with microphone and audio jack. The Earplug was invented in 1913 by Harry Bergmann and became popularized after World War I when soldiers were injured or killed while fighting on the battlefield. ear plugs were designed to isolate your ears from any surrounding noise so you could focus on your target(s). Ear plugs are still worn today by many people who participate in shooting competitions or funerals as they provide some level of protection from noises outside of range (such as explosives detonating). It is important to note that ear plugs cannot completely block out all noise however they do reduce it significantly. There have been numerous advancements made over the years with regard to Hearing Aids including: -The advances in Technology has led to more advanced Hearing Aids that are not only comfortable but also provide an impressive level of protection against outside sounds such as gunfire and explosives detonation
The Shooter Hearing Protection Association (SHPA) is a non-profit organization that has been working to improve hearing protection products for shooters since the early 1990s. SHPA developed the FIRST National Gun Safety Standards for ShootingEar plugs and muffs, which were published in 2002. In 2006, SHPA created the Safe Shooter Hearing Protection Program to provide free ear plugs and muffs to law enforcement officers and other shooting enthusiasts across the United States. Since then, SHPA has distributed over 2 million ear plugs and 1 million mufflers nationwide.
Evergreen Park is a city located in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The population was 17,394 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1868 by George Pullman as part of his plan to create a new town east of Chicago on land that had been confiscated from the original Cahokia Native American village. In 1871, Evergreen Park became an independent municipality and was annexed by Chicago in 1976. The first settlers in Evergreen Park were families who arrived from Indiana in 1868 and1869. The city's first mayor was John Dolan, who served from 1870 to 1872; he selected the site for the new town because he saw it as being able to support a large population without becoming too congested or polluted insideChicago's existing limits. By 1871, Evergreen Park had become an incorporated municipality with its own government and judiciary system. The community grew rapidly during the late 19th century due to various factors: railroad construction nearby, increasing trade between Chicago and Indianapolis (due to railroads connecting both cities), and increased immigration from eastern Europe and South America. James Auchincloss, president of Sears & Roebuck Corporation (now Sears Holdings) based his business operations in Chicago until 1886 when he relocated his main headquarters to Roebuck Plaza on Wabash Avenue. This move allowed Sears & Roebuck to control more market share within downtown Chicago than any other company; this competition led some developers such as John Hulbert to start developing what is now North Side (the north-central section of City Hall area). Development continued apace during the 1920s into the 1930s with projects such as Fieldston Heights (which included a large housing development called Gold Coast), Mayfair Gardens/River Oaks/Elmhurst Hills/Northeast Side etc.. Increased traffic led streetcar lines along Dearborn Street between Adams Road and State Street near Wacker Drive terminations starting around 1925 until they were discontinued c1950 due primarily to suburban automobile travel patterns which began emerging some years earlier with Model T production ended by 1940 cars started reaching dealerships much earlier than this In 1936, following World War II veteran’s benefits legislation known as “Gap Closure” affecting many northern industrial counties throughout America due largelyto shortages of Army labor during peacetime…. court decisions interpreting United States v. Reese expanded access for African Americans entering DuPage County through Joliet Township west of Interstate 95 while pushing back against racially restrictive zoning ordinances announced by then Mayor Richard Jagger… ensuing protests erupted over many aspects including stoplights at Green Lawn Shopping Center being turned off at 5pm instead of 7am like whites only did so Germans could get past without having their noses broken…. these protestations came about after Strom Thurmond ran for President promising not Segregationist measures if elected…. ultimately all restrictions lifted once Thurmond took office but not before numerous lawsuits were filed seeking damages….. white flight began soon thereafter continuing into present day .
