In 1958 the society purchased the old Illinois Central Railroad depot, which served as their new headquarters. In 1969 the society erected a historical marker at the depot in honor of railroad pioneers from East Peoria. In 1978-79, the society renovated and enlarged their current building on Wabash Avenue in East Peoria. The building has been used as their headquarters ever since and is currently serving as our primary source of research for our history program. Since 2001, we have also operated an online presence for our history programs which allows us to share our materials with a wider audience including students, experts, and researchers around the world.
