Dolton, Illinois is a small town located in McHenry County, Illinois. The population was 6,754 at the 2010 census. Dolton is home to two Shooting Sports Centers - one which is open to the public and one which is used by the police department. There are also several shooting range facilities within the town limits. The first shooting protection devices were invented in Dolton by Wm. Henson in 1892. These devices consisted of a metal plate that was affixed to the gun barrel and could be rotated so that it could aim properly. The use of these devices allowed shooters to shoot without fear of hitting their friends or family members who were standing nearby. In 1934, Johnnie Ray designed and patented an improved shooting protection device known as the Ray Gun Holder. This device consisted of a metal frame that was attached to a stock on the gun and could be moved up or down so that it would direct shots towards specific targets on-screen display equipment located behind the shooter’s seat. This invention allowed shooters to concentrate on Aiming instead of dodging projectiles being fired from other guns nearby. In 1968, Harry Weitzel developed a new type of shooting protection device known as an airburst protector which was used for shotguns only at his firing range in Dolton until 1972 when he added handguns too! Itchin & Weitzel Shooter's Protection Devices became available commercially in 1976 under the name "Weitzel Airburst Protector". In 1984, Universal Firearms Corporation introduced their own airburst protector design which became known as "Universalairburst". This technology allows shotguns with barrels less than 16 inches in length to befired without damage! This innovation has helped keep Dolton residents safe while participating in outdoor activities such as target practice or hunting since early 20th century!

Dolton was founded in 1853 by John Dolton and his wife Emmalee. It became a post office in 1858. The first store was built on Main Street in 1859, and the first school opened in 1860. In 1865, Dolton had three stores and one blacksmith shop; it had six schools and one Baptist church before becoming an agricultural center with five cotton gin plants and twenty-four farms in 1880. The mills closed around 1890 as technology changed and production moved to larger factories elsewhere; however, some people still live here today. The town name comes from "Dolen" (a German name) meaning "hill". One theory is that John Dolton named the town after himself because he could not find any other hills near where he lived though there were several hills near Macon County's capital city of Springfield at the time of its founding. Another theory suggests that Emmalee named the town for her father-in-law Daniel Ladd who she met while living with him on a farm northwest of downtown Dolton during her early years as a girl; Ladd donated land for a courthouse complex which included a jail and two jails adjacent to each other just north of Delavan Road/Highway 53 south of Interstate 90 east of Macon County village center on what is now Old Main Street off US Highway 53 across from Highland Park Elementary School - this location remains today as part of Park Place Apartments located just east of I-90 exit 37A off US Highway 53 between Highways 476N (Old State Route 3) to the north and I-290E (New State Route 290) to the south). In 1905 when Addison Township was created within Macon County, Dolton became Addison Township's seat since its borders coincided with those of Dolton Proper; however, border changes have since caused many residents from Dellony proper to move into Addison Township over time including most notably Drue McLendon who currently resides herein along with his son Jeffery McLendon who currently serve as township trustee In recent years much discussion has arisen about whether or not DolTON should be annexed by nearby Streamwood due largely to demographic differences such as lower median household income levels (approximately $60K vs approximately $130K), lack thereof cultural amenities offered by both towns combined with high rates for violent crime relative to overall township crime statistics - incidents reported per 100k population vs incidents reported statewide - making annexation less likely given resident concerns Accordingly efforts are underway within both townships respective governing bodies – namelyoads & trustees for Addison Township & commissioners for Streamwood Township respectively – aimed at achieving annexation either through vote or negotiation if necessary

Dolton is an Illinois town that was founded in 1855 by white settlers. The population of Dolton peaked at 1,500 in the early 1900s, but has since shrunk to around 100 residents. Dolton is located in Wayne County, about 25 miles southwest of Chicago. Dolton’s history dates back to the early 1800s when Native Americans and Europeans began trading and living together in what is now Dolton. In 1855, white settlers arrived in what is now Dolton and began building homes. By 1860, the town had a population of 350 people. By 1870, the population had increased to 500 people and by 1880 it had reached 1,000 people. The high population growth led to development problems and by 1890 Dolton was again struggling with poverty and overcrowding. In 1905, a new school was built in Dolton and the town quickly rebuilt its infrastructure. However, due to its location on a main road which served as an open dumping ground for refuse from surrounding towns during World War I, Tolonville also grew rapidly around Dolton over time. This caused tension between Tolonville and DolTON because they were both trying to maintain their own identities separate from one another while still sharing services such as water supply or schools. This tension eventually boiled over into violence which started on October 5th 1906 when two groups of teenage boys fought over who could use the local playground as their private play space (one group being from Tolonville). A physical altercation ensued which escalated into a full-blown riot that lasted for hours until reinforcements arrived from Chicago Heights neighborhood
