In 1907-1908 Samuel Colt produced what is thought to be the world’s first pistol specific cleaning kit which included a brush head called The Pistol Brush Head (now known as CCI Shooter's friend). This brush head was designed specifically for handgun cleaning including removal of fingerprints & smudges from weapons' surfaces before storage or exhibition purposes. In 1932 Brownells became one of the earliest companies to produce handgun specific cleaners with their company name being given to The Gun Cleaner series products starting with model 342D which was also known as The Pistol Cleaning Kit Deluxe Model (.22 LR/.32 S&W). This series continued until 1955 when it was replaced by another company trademarked `Brownells Gun Care` products which included various models such as The Gun Care Blaster (#611) , The Gun Care Soap Shooter (#608), The Gun Care Soap #2 Shooter (#607) .

While both these kits were originally designed for individual use only, they soon became common sight across gun clubs and shooting ranges across America. In fact, even now, many shooters use one or more of these types of Kits when cleaning their firearms!

Des Plaines, Illinois is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 12,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first settlers in what is now Des Plaines date back to 1824 when Isaac Franks and his family took up land east of present-day Joliet on the Great Lakes shoreline. In 1829, John Hennepin founded the city of Chicago and Des Plaines became one of its wards. On April 14, 1833, Springfield Township was organized from parts of Cook and Galena townships north of the state line. The first post office in Des Plaines was established on December 6, 1836. On November 3rd 1830 a group led by Captain David Herron built a log cabin on what is now Old Deer Path Road east of Main Street which served as their home until1838 when they moved to a new cabin located near present day Smith Road and North Avenue
In 1847, a group of investors known as the Des Plaines Reviewing Commission organized to promote agriculture in Illinois. The commission was successful in convincing the state legislature to let farmers purchase land from the government at low prices and develop it into productive farms. This made Illinois one of the first states in America to be industrialized.
