Dekalb, Ill. - Gun targets have been a part of the community in Dekalb for over 100 years. The first target was built by George Stephenson in 1825 and it is still in use today. The town of Dekalb was founded in 1836, and the first rifle range was built there in 1857. In 1908, the Illinois state government bought the land on which the current shooting range is located and began to construct it. The main purpose of this range was to teach marksmanship to infantry soldiers during World War I. It also served as a training ground for future police officers. Since then, many different types of gun targets have been used at the shooting range. Some of these include pistols (1911-1972), shotguns (1892-1994), rifles (1901-2008), and machine guns (1941-present). Today, there are more than 20 different types of target available at the shooting range. Additionally, there are several dozen different firearms that can be used on these targets, making it an ideal place for shooters of all levels to learn how to shoot accurately. Despite its various uses over time, gun targets remain an important part of American history. They are a fun way to spend an afternoon outdoors and help teach kids about responsible firearm ownership while having some great exercise too!

Dekalb is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 37,697 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cook County and home to the University of Illinois at DeKalb. Dekalb was platted on December 15, 1836 by citizens of Athens, Ohio as a town named for George Dekalb, an American politician and member of the Illinois General Assembly from that state. The name "DeKalb" first appears in a deed dated August 3, 1838 from John Pope to Nicholas Lowdermilk. The first school in Dekalb was Charity School located on Third Street between State and Elm Streets. In 1860 the school moved to what is now Notre Dame Avenue and taught children until 1915 when it closed due to lack of funding. In 1865 Rev Joseph Hickey organized a Methodist church in what is now the library building on Second Street near Chicago Ave which served as their church until 1892 when they moved into their present site on Taylor Road near Appleton Rd. In 1886 Ekalbola African American Church was built across First Street from Galesburg High School (now part of DePaul University). The first African American teacher in Dekalb was Mrs Fannie Burchard who taught school with her husband Dr James Burchard until his death in 1893; he had been working as an educator since 1881 primarily teaching manual labor courses at Galesburg High School before becoming principal there from 1889-1904 In 1914 over 50% of all businesses wereowned by aliens or men who had not obtained US citizenship or residency through naturalization according to data compiled by US Customs Service for that year . By 1920 this percentage had dropped to less than 10%. Despite this decline%, many Dekalbian entrepreneurs started successful businesses such as Pabst Brewing Co., Jello Corp., Dow Corning Glass Works Incorporated (later SUAGCO), United States Rubber Company (USR) and others during this period including future Ulysses S Grant president James Kieft Dekalbjians also helped establish several Colleges and Universities including DeKalbfrijk College; Normal Institute; Northern Illinois University - Carbondale; Southern Illinois University Carbondale -Bobcats football team ; Illinois Wesleyan University - Waukegan; DePaul College - Chicago Heights Dekalbinians are often considered pioneers within their community because they have brought about change while continuing to live among them even after leaving their hometowns behind them

As technology improved and people began using more advanced weaponry on a larger scale, gunners turned their attention towards creating even more realistic target specimens that could accurately portray the performance characteristics of individual firearms or artillery pieces in all weather conditions. Consequently,gun targets continued to play an important role in firearm training and competition until relatively recently when they were replaced by modern airsoft replicas or plastic replica munitions

Dekalb was a small village in Illinois, United States, at the time of its incorporation into the Union as a city on November 3, 1871. The community was established by John Dekalb and his brother-in-law Andrew Ellsworth on a tract of land south of the Chicago River. They named their new settlement after Prince George Washington's county in Virginia. Dekalb rapidly grew into a thriving community during its early years, with both residents and businesses making use of the river's plentiful resources. By 1883, however, the town had reached its peak; it boasted a population of over 1,500 people and an industry that included flour mills and lumberyards. However, during the late 19th century Dekalb experienced several tough times - including two devastating fires that destroyed much of the town in 1886 and 1889. In 1907 however, Dekalb regained some popularity when it became home to one of America's first indoor amusement parks - Illinois Adventure Park. However, by 1915 Dekalb had lost most of its vitality as a commercial center due to development around it within Chicago's limits. Despite these setbacks though, Dekalb played an important role in American history throughout its lifespan; from being an original part of Cook County to hosting numerous celebrations such as Fourth Of July parades and statehood ceremonies. In recent decades it has been gradually restored back to its former prominence thanks to initiatives such as demographic analysis and planning efforts emanating from Chicago's Museum District initiative.
Dekalb was founded in 1809 by John Dekalb and his family. The city is named for the Illinois River, which Dekalb helped to found. In 1826, the United States Congress passed a bill naming the river after Dekalb as part of a larger effort to promote Illinois growth. The river has been called "the mother of all rivers" because of its role in both American and European history.
