A school was built on what is now Caldwell Avenue in 1825 and an armory was erected onpresent-day Armour Road in 1830. The first courthouse was built on present day Eisenhower Boulevard in 1835. In 1839-41, deer were hunted legally for sport on public lands within village limits; these days hunting deer outside of village boundaries is not allowed without a special permit from the village president or board of trustees. The original platted area that became Deerfield consisted of just over one square mile (0.4 km²). By 1850 it had grown to approximately . That same year saw construction begin on what would become known as "Deerfield Village". The Village comprised two blocks bounded by Armour Road/Eisenhower Boulevard/Clarence Street/Fulton Street with a total population of only 26 residents; this number would grow to over 500 by 1860 when all but four blocks were annexed into the current town boundary including present day Dearborn Heights and Beverly Hills neighborhoods which today make up much of eastern Deerfield Township and western Gooden Park Township respectively In 1852–53 Deering School District No. 1 merged with Deerfield School District No. 2 becoming one large school district with a population of about 614 students according to 1880 data In 1898–99 Deerfield School District #2 absorbed former North Side High School which had served as the high school for South Side Elementary Schools since its opening in 1896 There have been many changesover timeresidential zoning ordinancesveterinary regulationsthe qualityof life around here has never really changed that much

Deerfield was first settled by the Potawatomi in 1795. It was purchased by the Illinois Company in 1803, and became a part of the United States of America. The town's economy depended on agriculture until the late 1800s when it developed into a bedroom community for Chicago. Deerfield is currently an unincorporated community located in Cook County, Illinois.
