In 1945, the company merged with another multi tool manufacturer, Bostitch Tools Inc., creating the first major multinational tool firm. The merger led to increased production and sales for both companies. In 1957, Bostitch Tools was acquired by Stanley Black & Decker Incorporated (SB&D) and the name changed to Stanley Multi-tool Corporation (SMC). From then until SB&D's receivership in 1978 it was controlled by Stanley Black & Decker subsidiary Swen Pfeffer Associates Ltd..
Decatur is a city in the Illinois Division of Macon County, Illinois, United States. The population was 25,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago-Naperville- Joliet Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlement in what would become Decatur was made on December 6, 1810 when General Nicholas Putnam and his party of soldiers arrived in what is now Decatur Township. Captain John Clinch's party landed on October 15, 1811 near present day Morningside Park and founded a village called Clinchville which lay within the boundaries of today's Decatur Township. The first post office was established in 1815 and named after Colonel Amos Kendall who served as Postmaster General for all of Illinois from 1814 to 1821. In 1830, Decatur became a town with a population over 5500 people when it annexed portion of neighboring Aurora Township. On January 1, 1870, as part of an act by the state legislature that modified the process for adding new municipalities to Illinois,Decatur became one of 131 townships (and 2 villages) created under Act No. 830 entitled "An Act to change certain points within section 10 miles [circa]of Cairo", which authorized creation of additional township governments on parcels formerly included within Arenac Township northwest of Maycomb County line until then unorganized or undeveloped land including most parts of today's Macon County including much central and eastern portions including parts now known as Decatur Townships As per original legislation: "All sections lying within ten miles square [of Cairo], both east and west thereof" were annexed into Arenac Township; excepting just south where part extending northerly from Arenac to Ottawa River formed Macon County Line creating Georgian Bay Village southern boundary continuing into present day Arlington Heights neighborhood with eastern edge near current White Marsh Bridge between those two precincts forming our western border with Hawthorne Village just beyond that precinct line thence easterly along White Marsh Bridge across river into Arlington Heights neighborhood thence westerly along white marsh bridge across river into mayhewood Neighborhood thence northeasterly along mayhewood Neighborhood line adjoining Redington Lake until finally reaching our southwestern corner at Ravenna Road." However only eastward annexation took place resulting in increased area around present day Cicero/Northbrook community while westward annexation resulted in increased area east (south) of Cicero/northbrook community . This legislation also provided for addition or deletion (by vote) offlying communities located outside those limits so long as they adjoin either Arenac or Macon Counties before becoming an official municipality

Decatur is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 26,898 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Decatur Township and the home of Northwest Illinois University. Hennessey built a blacksmith shop next to the railroad tracks that still stands on Elm Street between State and Elm Streets; he also erected a two-story block (now College Avenue) which served as mayorial office from 1865 to 1870 during the careers of George Mifflin (1865–70), Davenport Morton (1870–74), Augustus Kelley (1875–85), Abraham Lincoln (1885–89), Edward Everett Hale ( 1889–1901), Charles Sumner (1901-02) and Hiram Johnson (1903). As a result of these activities and others associated with earlyDecatur growth such as its wagon trade center on Main Street near Grove Street later called "The Loop", several blocks south along Elm Street became known as "The Square". As one result of increased immigration over time - particularly Italian Americans - many new businesses were born including a grocery store/cafeteria opened by Luigi Tornabene in 1922 called Ristorante Tornabene & Co.; an ice cream parlor/confectionery store operated by Angelo DeAngelo from 1927 until its closure in 1972; two breweries operated by Harry Anderson beginning in 1924 called Anderson Brewing Workshops Incorporated which continued operation until 1984; an auto mechanic shop opened by Jens Jensen starting in 1951 which became known as Jens Auto Body Shop before closing for good in 1988; an Applebee's restaurant started serving breakfast food west side near Griggs Road before moving east side to their current location across from Northwest Illinois University adjacent to Griggs Road Park late last year; A Bazaar Chinese Restaurant began servingnamese cuisine inside The Loop under management of owner Tran Van Thien since 2007 One significant event related to earlyDecatur growth occurred when Mayor George Mifflin announced plans for constructionof a new courthouse located northwest cornerStateand Elm Streetson November 12th 1925 just weeks after he assumed office following the death of Mayor Samuel Morse..
