In 1831, Decatur became one of 24 townships formed into Allegany County as part of Andrew Johnson's plan to create new states out of territories acquired during the Mexican–American War (1846-48). On February 14, 1851, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania incorporated as the first town in Allegany County; but this merger did not take place until March 3rd that year due to objections from nearby Clintontown over their water rights with Stroudsburg. On November 1st 1860—eight days after Abraham Lincoln was elected President—the Act providing for Unionization of Kansas passed both houses of Congress with only three dissenting votes and Kansas became an American state on January 29th 1861 regardless of whether or notDecatur had joined officially; however, since Allegany County was still attached to Missouri there were no local elections held until December 10th 1861 which resulted in Stroudsburg becoming the first town to be admitted into this newly created county On October 15th 1870 citizens voted by referendum to incorporate as a city Limits were set at 1001 E Main Street while property lines continued Streets running east/west bisecting lot numbers starting with 2 through 10 followed by A through Z With lotsstill being numbered starting with 1

This sight consisted of a metal platform that was placed over the bowstring and rotated so that it could point in any direction imaginable! It was this innovative design that allowed gunners to shoot targets up to 100 yards away without having to adjust their aim manually! Today, many different types of firearms are still being used world wide and 3-point sights remain an essential part of effective shooting performance!

Decatur was founded in 1836 by John Decatur and his family. John's grandson, James Wofford Wofford, donated another tract of land to build a courthouse and jail in 1845. In 1865, after much debate between Mayor Nicholas Scales (a Democrat) and members of the Republican Party about whether or not they should donate money towards building a state capitol complex within the city limits, Scales convinced them to do so with an offer that if they lost the election he would personally buy their votes back from them for $1 per vote - an event which still occurs annually today as part of Political Days festivities downtown! AsDecatur grew rapidly there were several problems that arose: transportation became difficult because there was no train service from Chicago; firewood became expensive because it took days to get here; there wasn't enough housing available so people built Multi-Family Houses (MFSs); schools were opened up but only until 1st grade because primarily farmers brought their children here until after school; women started working outside the home but didn't have access to education or job opportunities until well into World War II when paved streets finally helped open up many doors for women entrepreneurs By 1870 there were over 400 businesses operating in downtown Decatur! By 1910 more than 1,500 businesses operated! Between 1910-1920 more than 50 new factories/factories opened up including 10 steel mills! As factories closed down during World War I/II some citizens decided to move away which led(?)to some confusion since like many other American cities without strong military ties or ties with Europe some properties remained vacant while others were taken over by rival gangs or used as dumping grounds during those years During Prohibition most citizens fled due to taxes being raised above normal levels plus regulation from State Police agencies making it very difficult getting alcohol past these checkpoints . However approximately 25% chose not flee but instead stayed put trying(?)to make ends meet despite numerous raids throughout 1967 by Alcoholics Anonymous folks who came looking for "bad boys" . After repeal local leaders made plans moving everyone back into homes Seasonal housing hadn't been available much longer so efforts are underway now(?)to bring all properties back into use starting with 2 old warehouses currently unused at 214 & 215 N Main Street
