On October 21, 1871, Danville's first gun swivel was put into use. The rifle-toting citizens of the small town had been using a variety of devices to rotate their rifles in order to aim them at targets for years before this invention. A local ironworker named John Waddell created the swivels based on his own experience with such mechanisms. A post office was established at Danville in 1850, and remained active until it was discontinued in 1903. The first school building was built at this location in 1851; it burned down in 1860 but was rebuilt with additions including a gymnasium and a library which still stand today. In 1865, three families from Decatur moved into what would becomeDanville when their farm became accessible due to land purchases made by General John Halleck Prentice during his administration as Mayor of Chicago following his appointment as military governor for Illinois under President Abraham Lincoln following the Ulysses S Grant victory over Major General Henry Halleck at Bull Run on April 9th 1862 In 1870s there were five churches located Downtown (now housing apartments): Presbyterian (1870), Methodist (1871), German Lutheran (1872), Baptist (1874), African Methodist Episcopal (AME) (1875). These churches served primarily agricultural or white working class residents while black residents attend services provided by respective colored congregations outside of town limits or within walking distance. In 1889—the same year that pneumatic tubes were introduced into transportation throughout America—a dispensary opened providing medical care for poor people living near downtown areas with access only through paid hawkers such as those peddling food from open storefronts along Dearborn Street between State Street/Wellesley Avenue and Randolph Avenue/Lake Shore Drive where patients could purchase medication without coming into contact with those selling it However despite offers from various businesses beginning around 1890 for limited use rights adjacent to Dearborn Street between Randolph Avenue/Lake Shore Drive and State Street/Wellesley Avenue should streetcar lines running north-south be built serving these areas Amtrak passengers traveling southbound would have easy access to affordable healthcare without having to walk 3 blocks northeast

The only other event that received national media coverage happened when a group of nine boys from neighboring towns set out on a hiking trip near Carbondale on July 3rd (1851) and became lost while hiking down a mountain ridge – their disappearance generated much interest both locally and nationally . One possible reason why this didn't result in increased public concern about Fires within danville may be that most people living outside of Danvillle at that time didn’t have access to newspapers or would have been too busy trying to find their missing friends back home
