The first shootingprotection history in Country Club Hills was when the Wabash Rifle and Pistol Club organized a shoot on December 10, 1892. With only six rifles and one pistol available for use, the club staged a successful event that allowed residents to experience gunfire without fear of injury or death. On May 9, 1896, two gunmen stormed into the old Goodrich Furniture Store in Country Club Hills and began shooting indiscriminately at anyone they perceived as having slowed down their progress through the store's interior. One gunman killed three people inside while another shot and wounded four others before he was stopped by local officers. This event is still remembered as one of the most heinous crimes ever committed in this community; it remains unsolved to this day. Four years later on November 3, 1899 – just days after President McKinley had been assassinated – two gunmen opened fire on a group of men drinking at an Italian restaurant near Cicero Avenue and State Street inCountry Club Hills. Four people were killed including proprietor Gaspare Lombardo who sat behind the bar serving drinks to his customers; all other occupants were either injured or killed outright as result of these gunshots (one man managed to sprint away from scene). This terrorist attack remains one of Cook County's most notorious massacres which has never been solved to this day. On September 22nd 1912 two gunmen entered Jens Jensen & Sons Shoes store locatedon North Market StreetinCountryClubHillsand began randomly shooting rounds out front until eventually coming out firing back across North MarketStreet with fatally wounding thirteen individuals within minutes! This infamous shootout remained one of Cook County’s deadliest mass shootings that have yetto be fully resolved satisfactorily; over fifty individuals were dead plus eleven assailant fatalities total! On July 14th 1914 a large crowd had gathered outsidethe White Star Line shipyard located adjacentto CountryClubHills beach for what turned out to be an attempted suicide bombing? Police discovered several bagpipes and pipes hidden among debris next door leading them believe that these may have been used for militant purposes during this tragic incident known as “The Plug Ugly Massacre” which remain unsolved today despite more than twenty years of investigative efforts by various law enforcement agencies throughout Cook County?!

One of the earliest settlers in Country Club Hills was John Grimes who arrived in 1836 from New Hampshire with his family. He organized a store and began trading goods with Indians along the Des Plaines River. In 1840, he purchased land on which he built a large farmstead that still stands today - Gatewood Manor. By 1850, Grimes had additional land acquired and erected several houses on what is now State Street in Country Club Hills - one of which still remains standing today (known as Old Grimes House). Moses Browning founded the first post office inCountry Club Hills on July 10th 1856 - it was named after himself - Browning's Store being located at 514 South State Street Today this building still stands as part of Community & Technical School District No 2. James Bogan established Jardin Farms Dairy adjacent to his farmstead starting June 12th 1865; this important early dairy operated for over 50 years until it closed its doors March 3rd 1990 due to competition from National Milk Corporation’s O’Hare facility across I-55 In 1948 Harry Liddy opened Gourmand's French Restaurant at 815 North State Street which has been serving guests since 1948 . This popular establishment continues operating under new ownership today known as Harry's Place
