During that time, they produced a variety of firearm related products, including handguns, shotguns, rifles and more. After World War I ended, many farmers left rural America for the cities. As a result, demand for firearms t-shirts decreased. However, there were still some gunsmiths who continued to produce and sell their products from their shop in Country Club Hills. In fact, over the years these guys have become known as “The Gun Shops” due to the high level of quality and detail put into their products. The community was organized in 1892 as a country club and golf course by millionaire Edward Livingston. The first president of Country Club Hills was J.P. Morgan Sr.. In 1922, the club merged with another golf course in nearby Wheaton to form one of the largest country clubs in Illinois. The park that now occupies much of Country Club Hills was founded on land donated by Livingston's son-in-law, George Washington Hillman Jr.. The original clubhouse and tennis courts were built between 1914 and 1916 for $5,000 each. Today, all but one court are used for sports purposes only; there is still a basketball court available for use by members only when needed. In 1970, Country Club Hills became an independent city after voters passed a referendum supporting its incorporation into McLean County rather than remain within the larger Chicago area

Country Club Hills was a census-designated place in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 2,927 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The community began as a small farmstead on the east side of Country Club Hills Lake after it was acquired by developer George Fenton in 1892. The name "Country Club Hills" became common among the early settlers because of the country club-style architecture and amenities that were characteristic of many mansions then being built in rural areas across America. Fenton's development included a golf course, racetrack, swimming pool and tennis courts; one of only a few such developments in Illinois during this time period. The first post office for Country Club Hills opened in 1903. In 1925, Fenton donated land to include what is now known as Country Club Drive and Country Club Golf Course which led to its current name which means "a quiet retreat from city life." Aranaki Park Racetrack opened its doors on November 14, 1909 and quickly became one of the most popular tracks in Illinois with its beauty and unique layout including two main tracks (the North Trackand South track) within an loop around the oval track giving it a variety of racing experiences for all types of drivers including harness horses race openers as well as two annual meetings per year - Aday meetings for Thoroughbreds and Handicaps while Midget events were held annually at Christmas time under the guidance of Mr. Jock Hinton himself who later served as President/CEO from 1984 until his retirement in 2003). The facility would continue to be used by various sporting organizations through out its years until closing it's doors permanently due to financial reasons on May 1st 1995 following more than 50 yearsOperating income over $200K had generated nearly $2 million worth Of proceeds For Ourcgfirmed Charitable Endowment Prior Toclosure .
