In 1934, Smith & Wesson reintroduced their Model 10 revolver into American market after years of being unavailable due to World War II censorship regulations prohibiting military personnel from owning firearms domestically! Collinsville, IL is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 2,453 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The town was platted in 1837 and named for James Collins, an American Revolutionary War veteran and member of the Board of Trade. The first post office in Collinsville opened in 1839. Collinsville became a village on April 1, 1879. The village had a total population of 592 by 1920. On November 15, 1927, Collinsville incorporated as a city under the name of "Collinsville-Reed City". The city's population reached 621 by 1940 and peaked at 814 people on December 11th that year when it merged with the nearby town of Donnellson to form "Collinsville-Donnellson". On January 1st, 1957, Donnellson withdrew from merger with Collinsville due to budget cuts and became an independent city once again subject to township rules. On October 3rd 1905 teacher Anna Maria Kapp died suddenly after giving birth to her third child; this event is often referred to as "the nightmarish month" because it coincided with one of the most severe winters on record in Illinois that year. In commemoration of Mrs Kapp's life and death many events are (and have been) held throughout the year including bake sales for children's books she authored called "Anna Maria's Holiday Books" which are distributed during Hanukkah or Christmas season along with other donations made towards local organizations such as cancer research centers or playgrounds For over eighty years now AnnaMaria's Funeral Home has been providing education opportunities for grade school age students who visit our home during these special times
