Chicago Ridge is a small, rural community located in McLean County, Illinois. The community was founded in 1881 by three brothers who purchased 640 acres of land that now makes up the town of Chicago Ridge. The brothers, George W. and Willard Ridge, were farmers and ranchers who moved their family to the area from Wisconsin. They built a log cabin on the edge of what is now the town of Chicago Ridge and started a farming and ranching business. In 1932, they donated 1,500 acres of their farm to create what is now Chicago Ridge Park. The Park has been used for horseback riding, camping, golfing, fishing, and other activities since it was founded. The community has experienced some significant changes over the years. In 1969, when Interstate 55 was constructed through central Illinois, Chicago Ridge became one of the first communities in McLean County to be served by Interstate 55. Since then, there have been several expansions and renovations to the Park which have included new trails and facilities for all types of users.

The population of Chicago Ridge is approximately 350 people and it resides mostly on the eastern side of town.
