There are several trails running around oralong Chicago Ridge - some starting out near Interstate 95 and running northeasterly all the way to Kane County; others start near Northwest Highway and run easterly all the way to Indiana State Line (although some loops go back north). There's also a small Nature Preserve just east of town where you can find trees, ponds, streams, meadows/grasslands, etc., including several rare species such as black bears and wolves.
