Chatham is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,854 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Chatham was founded in 1836 by General Edmund Kirby Smith and his wife Sarah as a small village on the banks of the Mississippi River. In 1837, Chatham became an incorporated town and received its present name from General John Chatham, who fought in the American Revolutionary War and then served as a U.S. Representative from Illinois from 1793 to 1800. Chatham first experienced economic growth during the late 19th century when several large breweries were established there including Allston Brewing Company (founded 1892), Wabash Brewery (1896), and DuPage Brewing Company (1910). In 1924, Bob Ford opened Ford's Barbecue which became one of Illinois' most successful barbecue restaurants. Other major businesses that have located in or near Chatham over time include Schwan's Pharmacy (established 1912), First National Bank (1898), Pohl's Hardware Store (established 1916), Goodyear Tire & Rubber Plantation (1922-1966), Sears Roebuck & Co.'s showroom complex on State Street (1969-1991) and Mack Truck Service Ltd., now known as Mack truck services LLC., which was headquartered at 226 Niles Road until it closed in 1986 due to financial problems with its parent company Mack Corporation. The 200th anniversary of Chatham’s founding will be celebrated by local organizations throughout 2019 with events culminating with an open house on Thursday, October 10th at 7pm commemorating the occasion at Town Hall/Chatham Village Hall located off I-294 eastbound exit ramp from I-90 just south of Highway 54A/Upper Arlington Rd./Old World Shopping Center

The Red Dot Sight history goes back to the early 1990s when company founder Bud Emerson developed a red dot sight for his firearms. The original design featured an all-metal housing with a white light that projected onto a black reticle. This sight was later redesigned and became available as the RDS-1 in 1995. It remained in production until 2003. In 2004, Emerson created the RDS-2 which featured a new housing with an illuminated CCD sensor which allowed users to see their target at any distance regardless of obstructions or light interference. The RDS-2 continued to be produced until 2007. In 2012, the company released the RDS-3 which incorporated several improvements such as an illuminated crosshair and superior brightness and contrast over earlier models. The RDS-3 is still being produced today.
Chatham is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,611 at the 2000 census. Chatham is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The village of Chatham was organized in 1837 and named for General James Wilkinson who had fought in the Mexican-American War and then served as an agent to purchase land from the Spanish government near what is now Elmhurst, Illinois. The first settler in Chatham was George Whitehead who built a cabin on a branch of the Des Plaines River in 1839. In 1840, John Nolen established a store and post office here. A lumber business was founded by Cornelius Beasley in 1849 and remained successful until around 1870 when prices for logs began to decline due to overproduction by mills across the country. By 1900, there were only three businesses remaining: a grocery store, blacksmith shop, and schoolhouse. In 1916–1917, during World War I (1914–18), many men from Chatham enlisted in the Army or Navy and many homes were requisitioned for military use or converted into barracks. As result of this wartime mobilization effort local businesses ceased operations but new ones emerged such as an ice cream parlor and drugstore which continue to operate until present day. The first interurban train service arrived at Chatham station on December 5th 1888 on route #2 (now southbound Michigan Avenue) from Chicago via Stateline Depot eastward along Willard Road en route to Moline (now Terre Haute). That same year also saw the opening of one of Chicagos largest department stores – Montgomery Ward – located just north of town off US 60/I-88 on Gilmore Road between Elmhurst Road and State Street with its own depot & tracks within easy walking distance for residents & customers alike! Montgomerys growth led to increased competition which resulted in several layoffs back home including those at the local grocery store; howeverCHATHSPEOPLEKNEWWHATHAPPENED! They kept their heads down & persevered! However WWI ended before it could really take hold so things returned to normal; however CHAUMONTWANDERINGSREPEATEDLYDETECTEDWITHINTHENIGHTTIMEFROMOVERHEAD!.
